It is a groundbreaking moment as Yinka Odeajo, popularly known as “Yinka Bold”, officially assumes office as the 71st President of the Rotary Club of Crawley. This historic occasion marks Yinka as the first Black male to hold this prestigious position, a significant milestone in the club’s rich history.

Yinka Odeajo’s appointment comes with a compelling vision, a passionate drive and a heart of service. As he steps into this leadership role, he aims to transform the Rotary Club of Crawley into a more inclusive, multicultural organization while reinforcing its mission of community outreach and development.

“I was brought into Rotary some years ago with the essence of serving,” Yinka shares. “Becoming the first Black male and the 71st President of the Rotary Club of Crawley is a huge honor. I have always been a whispering voice to power, supporting those in leadership. Now, I am privileged to be the one to be whispered to, and I welcome this responsibility with humility and dedication.”

Yinka Bold Has a Vision for Inclusivity and Community Impact

Yinka’s leadership is poised to reposition the Rotary Club of Crawley as a beacon of diversity and community engagement. “I want to make our club the best in the district by reaching out to the community and making it a true multicultural hub,” he states confidently. One of his key initiatives is to expand the club’s influence into neighboring areas such as Horley.

Central to Yinka’s tenure will be a focus on mental health, a cause he is deeply passionate about. “The mental well-being of people is crucial, especially given the pressures of life and the rising cost of living. My main project will be to support mental health by bringing together agencies and stakeholders. Collaboration is key to addressing these issues effectively,” Yinka explains.

Yinka Wants to Leave a Legacy of Service and Leadership

Yinka Odeajo’s rich background in business, education, and community service uniquely positions him to lead the Rotary Club of Crawley. His journey began at Surulere Baptist Primary School and Government College Lagos, culminating in higher education at the University of Jos and later, the University of Kent in the UK. His dedication to fostering investment in Nigeria led him to found Invest Nigeria in Dublin, bridging the gap between investors and opportunities in his home country.

Yinka’s contributions extend beyond business and education. His creation of the International African Music Awards (IAMA) showcases his commitment to nurturing young talent and celebrating cultural diversity. His ongoing research at the University of Kent focuses on the mental well-being of the Black community, aiming to inspire actionable change through meaningful dialogue.

As a co-founder of the African Community in Surrey & Sussex (ACISS), Yinka works tirelessly to bridge cultural divides and promote inclusivity. His leadership in these roles exemplifies his passion for fairness and equal opportunities for all.
