TOP POLITICIANS, NOLLYWOOD STARS STORM THE BIGGEST ANNUAL CATHOLIC CONCERT IN AFRICA

Unusual praise concert is the annual biggest catholic concert in Africa hosted by the Catholic Church of divine Mercy, Lekki, Arch Diocese of Lagos. The 2019 edition of “Unusual praise” was tagged to declare the glory of the lord among nations. The annual concert is to promote evangelization by creating an unforgettable praise experience utilizing live music as an instrument to inspire and challenge people from all background to share the message of the lord Jesus Christ and to live a life centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ and to build a deeper relationship with him.

29th November will remain an unforgettable day with amazing experience as the catholic church of divine mercy gathered thousands of worshippers at the periwinkle estate, freedom way, lekki for the 9th edition of the unusual praise concert. The non-denominational gathering played host to gospel ministers including Nathaniel Bassey, Tope Alabi, Jude Nnam, Big Bolaji, Panam Percy Paul, Bj Sax, Mercy Chinwo, Chioma Jesus, Joe Praiz, Bukola Bekes, Chinyere Udoma, Osinachi Nwachukwu, Grace ezeh, Chukwuemeka A, Gozie Akanchawa to mention but a few.

Revrend Monsignor Paschal Nwaezeapu, the parish priest spoke on the reason why unusual praise is organized every year and he mentioned that it is an avenue to draw men unto God in thanksgiving. He also mentioned that thousands of people gave their lives to Christ and extraordinary testimonies backed up the previous editions and that has inspired the church and organizers to continue year in year out. He emphasized on the need for people to get life transforming encounters through the live ministrations. Lanre Da Silva, the chairperson for 2019 unusual Praise spoke on how logistics have been put in place to make it a success. “Free buses are available at major to convey people to the venue” she said.

 Nathaniel Bassey, a renowned gospel artiste and pastor mentioned that praise is the duty of Man to God and that is why he has kept us alive to offer him praise and despite the economic challenge, we will still give him praise for life and our heart and motive is the best instrument of worship. 

 Politicial bigwigs and captains of industries including the vice presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in the 2019 presidential election Mr Peter Obi, Minister for transportation Dr Chibuike Rotimi Ameachi, and chief Executive officer of Zinox Technologies Mr Leo Stan Eke and many others witnessed the praise concert. Nollywood stars including Rita Dominic, Adaora Ukoh, Uchenna Nnanna were present.

In addition to unusual praise, unusual entrepreneur was established last year as a medium of giving back to the society as well as empowering young entrepreneurs so as to make them financially stable and independent. In this year’s edition of unusual entrepreneurs, a total of 40 million Naira was given to over 251 young entrepreneurs who are Catholics and non-Catholics in diverse fields. The funds are ranging from 1 million naira, 500,000, 250,000, 150,000, and 100,000. Training were in stages and only 251 people emerged from over 2500 people who registered.

Mr Valentine Chineto Ozigbo, president and chief executive officer of Transcorp group was the chairman unusual Entrepreneur for the previous year and this year. he spoke on how the unusual entrepreneur program has supported 251 Nigerian Entrepreneurs with funds to help them grow their business and passion. He also seized the opportunity to appreciate Eco bank Nigeria, Konga and Chineto ozigbo foundation who has supported the vision of Empowering young Enterprenuers.
