Sunday, 15th March, 2020 was a special day. It will forever linger on the minds of Abisola and Abiodun as both took a bold step of faith to commit their future to one another. The event which was an all-adult affair is not just classy, it also had top society celeb men and women in attendance. The families of Late Captain Rotimi Seriki and Oluwatoyin Seriki and that of Mr Bola and Mrs Titilayo Awojobi, close and distant relatives, colleagues and friends all gathered to witness the traditional marriage of the two love birds in Lagos. Judging by the class of people in attendance, the music, food and paparazzi displayed, one would know that the event was indeed a definition of class and affluence. ABOUT THE VENUE
The beautiful ambiance at one of the best event centre in the heart of Ikeja GRA- Haven Event Centre with 1000 capacity cannot be fully expressed in writing. The decoration, sitting arrangement, walkway, lightening, red carpet, huge parking space made the event centre stand out on this fateful day that a top. Let’s also be the first to tell you that there was maximum security at the venue. The instruction was simple and fully obeyed, no access card, no entry. The Security personnel on stand-by didn’t give room for any form of shenanigan.
USHERS & HAND SANITIZERS
The organisers of the event indeed pay attention to details. Ushers were properly positioned beside each table to ensure that they meet the needs of the guests. The bigger talking point was the fact that the organisers are also healthy living conscious. There were hand sanitisers at the entrance of the auditorium for every guest. It was indeed necessary considering the coronavirus pandemic troubling the whole world at this time.
TOP WEDDING PLANNER/ANCHOR, ILE OKOYA WAS IN CHARGE
One of topmost wedding anchors and planners around the country known as Ile Okoyahandled the event. Who does it better if not the C.E.O of Ile Okoya Mrs BimAkinwunmi. Everyone who has attended a wedding she anchors already knows that she is skilled and has the ability to bring out the best out of any bride and groom. She didn’t disappoint. She has the ability to sing songs that are currently trending and her blend of both traditional and hi-hop songs for the couple is excellent.
GOLD &WHITE WAS A PERFECT BLEND
The colour of the day was gold and white. Society women rocked several luxury fabric in gold and white and matched it up with a white Aso-Ebi headgear. The colour combination made the gathering look like the gathering of angels in heaven. To say it added spice and beauty to the already well-decorated auditorium is an understatement.
SHUGA BAND SERENADES
Do we need to tell you about the Shuga Band? Absolutely not. They are one of the best music live bands known in this part of the world and their job is simply to make your Owambe come alive. Lead by its leader, Akin Shuga, the Shuga band serenaded everyone at the event with different genres of music; ranging from rock, afro, old school, highlife and hip-hop to mention but a few.
…AND IJEBU IGBO WEDS IJEBU ODE
The parents of the couple beamed with joy as they joined their children in matrimony. Did we tell you it was a union of the Ijebu Igbo and Ijebu Ode? Yes it was a conglomerate of the Ijebus and dignitaries turned up to celebrate with both families.
The bride’s mother Madam Oluwatoyin Seriki and the groom’s mother Mrs. Titilayo Awojobiwere both radiating with great joy as they rocked a two-toned luxury lace with sky blue as the dominating colour. They matched it with luxury sky blue head gear. It was obvious that these mother in laws are highly fashionable as they rocked luxury jewelleries and clutch purse. It was their day and they stood out.
The fathers in-law were not also displayed a high fashion sense. The groom’s father Mr Bola Awojobi rocked a sky blue Agbada and a cap to match. The bride’s father late Capt. Rotimi was duly represented. The representative of the bride’s father also rocked the sky blue agbada and a sky blue cap to match.
MEET THE STYLISH GROOM
The groom Dr AbiodinAwojobi’s grand entry was another talking point on the afternoon. He wore a gold agbada designed with burnt orange and his group of friends rocked white and blue agbada. The groom is stylish. He rocked a luxury wrist watch and shoe. The coral beads soothe so well on his neck and wrist. He was so calm and collected. He stepped-in like a royalty as the Shuga band got him dancing. He was asked to greet his in-laws and take pictures with them. He followed all the instructions of the anchor as if he had already rehearsed from home. He made no mistakes with all the questions asked and his friends were there supporting him both morally and financially. The ginger was indeed high for Dr. Abiodun. After the rites had been completed, he moved to a specially designed seat for the couple; awaiting the arrival of his queen.
THE BRIDE’S GALLANT ENTRY
The bride who is as fashionable as her mum stepped out in style. She rocked a gold orange ofi and same as her head gear. She rocked a luxury jewellery, shoe and bag. She stood out in style. Her friends in Aso-Ebirocked a burnt orange lace and a light orange headgear to match. She danced with her friends as her family members surrounded as they spend crispy naira notes on her.
MEDIA GURU, DELE MOMODU’S WIFE, MOBOLAJI SPRAYS THE BRIDE
Mrs Mobolaji Abiodun Momodu, the pretty wife of Bashorun Dele Momodu a media guru and the CEOof OviationMediaspent heavily on the bride.
Mrs. Mobolaji Momoduand Mrs Bose Durojaiye are siblings of the bride’s mother and they ensured that guest were properly catered to. The bride danced to her parents where she got prayers and blessing for the journey ahead. Ile Okoyarequested that the bride mum should specially pray for her daughter. She got her mother’s blessing and she took picture with her family members.
BRIDE MEETS NEW FAMILY
Her friends placed the veil on her properly as she danced to meet her new family. She was received joyfully into her new home. She knelt down and received prayer from her new family. Then she danced to join the groom. Prior to that, she went to the space where bridal items were and pick the Ring as a symbol of unity and love.
MARRIAGE VOWS
The couples exchanged marriage vows and ring and they were pronounced man and wife. The latest couple took picture as they move to their cake stand. The cake was being hung to a stand. Families and friends joined them for pictures as they got their wedding cake.
DJ SBEE JOINS THE PARTY
DJ Sbee, one of Lagos’ fast-rising disc jockey also joined the party. Of course, the Shuga band was more than capable of thrilling the guest but DJ Sbee also added spices to the already lively show as the two families went to appreciate each other.
FORMER OGUN FIRST LADY, OLUFUNSOAMOSUN JOINS HIGH TABLE
Her Excellency, the former First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Olufunso Amosunwho happens to be a friend to the bride’s family joined the guest on the high table. Mrs Amosun’s arrival added more glamour to the party.
COUPLE’S SECOND APPEARANCE
The couple’s second appearance was mind blowing was beautiful. The bride rocked a sky blue dress and a blue head gear to match. The groom rocked a blue agbada and a cap to match.
OVER 50 CATERERS ATTENDED TO GUESTS
The joy of a Naija party is not just in the attire, sexy looks and enjoyable music. Party jollof must crown it all before such a party can become a talk of the town. Let’s be the first to tell you that there were over 50 caterers attending to people at Abisola and Abiodun’s wedding. That’s unprecedented right?
