No one expected that ex Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi will use his 52nd Birthday ceremony to reply his successor governor of Rivers state Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike. And frankly he descended on Governor Wike’s infantile cum juvenile style of administration since 2 years of assuming political power as Governor of Rivers state state. I accepted for these young men and women to organize this birthday party because they said will afford All progressive Congress-APC an opportunity to gather. And I said I will not be in the country as I will be traveling during my birthday and they connived with my beautiful wife to pick the date for today 17th of June and I didn’t know until I arrived and here I am. So, some of my friends want to come and I said do not come as it is an internal thing, let us go there and enjoy ourselves.
But I am grateful to all of you who organized it (Applause).They asked me and I told them that I have no kobo to give to anybody and they said just give us your time and tell us you will allow us to go ahead and organize the birthday party. First of all I refused but it was the Chairman of the party (APC) that convinced me. In fact it was the chairman who said that it will give the APC an opportunity to gather. And when he said so… I said okay go ahead and organize it.
Sincerely what I see as a former Speaker (of Rivers state House of Assembly) and a former Governor and now a Minister is that most people who come to celebrate my birthday, that is, those who come to organize are organizing it because they have something at the back of their minds. Now, what do they have at the back of their minds –nothing! And they have to go from place to place to look for money and those people that they went to; to ask for money some have to abuse them as some said that I did nothing for them and I smiled.

The Government is spending two years to convince people that I did nothing …is it not? There is no Local Government area that I did not build minimum of ten Primary Schools True or False ( True !) Okay, when we started as a government we saw we had a total of 750 Primary schools built by former governors and former Local Government Chairmen . You remember former Local government Chairmen used to build Primary schools and former governors both civilians and Military joined them. How many governors have we had in the past?
So, all the former Governors combined built 750 Primary schools and with all the former Local Government Chairmen in my tenure I told all the Local Government Chairmen plus Shell Petroleum Development Company and other oil companies all of them combined to build 750 Primary Schools in my tenure as Governor. I said stop, don’t build for us again. We want to set a standard. And I called the Commissioner for Education and we built 750 Primary Schools, we started and awarded 500 and until we finished 750. (Applause) And note it is not 6-Classroom blocks as they all built 6-classroom blocks I built 14-20 classroom blocks. Gulf Housing estate, the one near the Air Force Base I got a company to go and build it. We were building another Gulf Estate these young men came and stopped it. They are destroyers of development. (Applause) They said I should account for the money and I am accounting for it now. And by December 2017…politics start by December I will give them blow by blow how much I received and how much I spent (Shouts of joy…clapping). They said Amaechi is now a Muslim and now they want to take Loan from Islamic Bank…they say Amaechi is a Muslim but they are applying for a Loan from Islamic Bank! See I am a Catholic and never applied for a loan from Islamic bank and they who are applying for a Loan from Islamic bank who is more a Moslem? (Them).
They said I did not do roads right? The road they are passing from to the Airport was built by me. There are six Flyovers in this state right ? (Yes) The one at Agip by Ikwerre Road, The one at Rumuola and the one built by Dr Odili that collapsed that I rebuilt it and I built one at Obiri Ikwerre Inter Change East-West Road and I built at Eleme Junction, I built at Woji, I built at …( Ovation..Applause) They don’t want the campaign to be on development they want the Campaign to be on Amaechi saying ‘”he did allow us to perform, we were fighting back’” .
The only bridge this Government had commissioned is the Nkpogu Bridge. There are two bridges at Nkpogu right! (Yes) One is for going and one is for coming. We completed the one going from one side it was completed by us ooo ! The other one why we didn’t start it is because we disagreed with the contract or because of the price. They increased the price and I said that I will not pay. Now they went back to that same contract or and agreed on that price and collected money from that man and paid that price.
They are not ashamed to go and commissioned the road that I built and completed. They said they built the road from Abuloma that is that Woji Road I completed that bridge there, remaining four stands to complete and they now laid asphalt on it and commissioned and they are dancing. Six weeks that I became Governor I stopped insecurity.
Today they are beheading Nigerians in the streets of Rivers state. Today your Governor is sitting with criminals and eating with them. As a governor I never sat with any criminal. I pursued and frustrated them and I supported the security. He is not ashamed that he is elected to kill people. That is, the government is allowing people to die. Ask my wife she will ask me where do you always go and come by 2 am in the night and I will say tomorrow you will follow me and see where I go.
By tomorrow I put her in a car alongside with Commissioner of Police and Brigade Commander we were physically chasing criminals by ourselves. My wife saw it and said please take me back. Today as a former Governor of Rivers state whenever I come to Rivers state I get used to sleeping by 6pm. When I became Governor the night clubs were all functioning. A Rivers man is known for enjoyment. Former President (Goodluck Jonathan) came here in Rivers state and told the people without shame that when he lost election that he had his focus on Rivers state Governorship election and he gave us a child. When you give children what they can’t manage they destroy what they can’t manage. And that is why parents guard and guide their children.The reason you guard a child is that you don’t want to lose that child.Just empty talking. Now we have a loose child. If he knew he would put a child he would have been in office to guard that child.3years of Talking. Right from Government House if you come out Front or back gate, now let us start, back was built by Alfred Diete Spiff so he tried but as soon as you enter Nkpogu who did it?( you-Amaechi). I am not qualified to answer your Governor as I called Commissioners in the next one year that I want these projects in Akwa community in Etche Local government area. They collected over Three Billion Naira from Communities and companies and they have not rebuilt it. As your governor I did Port Harcourt To Owerri road true or false? (true) that is Federal project is it not? It is. Ada-George is a Federal road is it not? It is who I built Ada George road.Ikwerre Road is a Federal Road is it not? I rebuilt it. “Now he goes around telling people that Amaechi doesn’t like him and people forget easily .Remember that when we want to go for second term to show what we have done for the first quarter we started to commission operation 60-60 projects. That is 6o Health centers in 60 Communities.And we gave the telephone numbers of those communities so that people should call and confirm whether those projects are there. And we visited those communities to say are the Health centers there?
When we came to government we met 200 medical doctors and I employed 400 medical doctors to make it up to 600 medical doctors. We set up committees to review our Teachers needs and we were told that we needed 91, 000 Teachers and I met with Commissioners and people were scared when we finished screening I employed 13,000 Teachers.I sent over 3,000 children to Overseas to go and study on my scholarship did I not give those children scholarship true or false?(true).
By the time I left government about a thousand three Hundred (1,300) had graduated and returned medical doctors were the most important as they returned and they were hired into our Health system. This man – a child of course, that that has shown dislike for education, brought them back.
A child does not know the importance of education. The first responsibility of the Governor is to educate the minds of her people so that they can interrogate that governor. What he is doing is that he is democratizing illiteracy sharing it from village to village and from House to House.In my Government is Primary school not having Free education True or false? (True) We bought them uniforms and we bought them books and we paid their teachers.We brought Indians to run our Computer Classes and to teach our children. Now they have no computers and Primary schools abandoned. When you have an illiterate to perform the functions of the educated minds what do you get?”

“He accused me of corruption. The salary that I was running I met wage Bill and I ran N9Billion monthly wage bill.I took N2B every month to run Local Government Councils. This man collects Local Government Councils’ money and puts in his pockets. Me, I was giving them N2B monthly but he collects from them and gives them peanuts to go and pay salaries. Is that a Governor? (No). That is what we call stealing. He is stealing.So, it is not corruption but stealing. But you know I say he should wait until December (2017)let him focus on governance”.
