Following calls proposing that Twitter should delete President Trump’s weekend tweet about North Korea which many including North Korea’s foreign minister Ri Yong believes incites violence and is a declaration of war, the social media company has given its reasons for not yielding to the calls.

President had on Saturday through a tweet wrote, “Just heard Foreign Minister of North Korea speak at U.N. If he echoes thoughts of Little Rocket Man, they won’t be around much longer!”
• Twitter’s response
Twitter through a statement said Trump’s tweet is newsworthy and of public interest hence, it didn’t meet the conditions to be removed.
“Twitter is committed to transparency and keeping people informed about what’s happening in the world. We’ll continue to be guided by these fundamental principles,” the statement added.
