An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan on Wednesday remanded two men, Adewale Adegoke, 23, and Adigun Niyi, 30, at Agodi Prisons for alleged armed robbery.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr O. Adisa said the accused were remanded in prison pending the outcome of the case file at the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) because the court lacked jurisdiction to try the case.

He, thereafter, adjourned the case until Nov.23, for the mention.

The pleas of the two defendants were not taken by the court.

However, the accused, which have no fixed addresses, were arraigned in court on a four-count charge bordering on armed robbery and conspiracy.

The Prosecutor, Insp Sikiru Opaleye, told the court that the accused allegedly conspired to commit armed robbery.

“Also, the accused allegedly attacked one Sakirat Azeez in her house while armed with a gun and dispossessed her of Itel cell phone valued N6,000 and cash of N4,000.

“Moses Ojo and Ishola Nureni were alleged to have also been attacked by the accused while armed and dispossessed them of their cell phones valued N5,000 and N2,500 respectively with a cash sum of N8, 300.

He said the offence was committed on Sept. 25, at about 2:30 am at Abanise Area, Moniya in Ibadan.
