As part of its cardinal objective the United Vanguard of Nigeria on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, visited the families of late patrons of the club ahead of Sallah celebration and donated food items to the families.
The president of the club, Alhaji Comrade Wale Adelakun, said on Tuesday that the donations were part of programmes included in the club’s activities for this year .
According to Comrade Wale Adelakun, the organisation’s aim is to better standard of living, community peace and progress through economic empowerment for members of the organization and, less privileged in the society.
“Today, we are giving out food items to the widows of our late patrons today; Comrade Tunji Adelabu Yussuph and Alhaji Comrade Yekeen Bakare popularly known as Bakky. The items include rice and cooking oil. This we believe will make them happy during this festive period.
The expectation is that we will carry out more of this effort. We have been doing this for more than 20 years ago and we have visited many families in Lagos and Oyo especially widows and the less privileged. After this we want to keep doing more
He maintained that since the foundation of the club two decades ago, the organization has remained faithful and committed in supporting the needy in the society, and improving the lives of its immediate community. “We need to be faithful in the little things that God has called us to do. Therefore, my advice is for people to be faithful in everything.”
He also advised Nigerians who are financially comfortable to lend a hand to support the needy whenever the opportunity arises.
