Iba GANI ADAMS, Aare Ona Kakanfo Yorubaland
Aare Onakakanfo (Generalismo) of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has spotted a yawning gap in government’s efforts to flatten Covid-19 cuff and put an end to the ravage of the virus in the country.
Aare remarked that the government should have, abinitio, unleashed spiritual arsenal to boost the effectiveness of conventional medication. He said in a live interview with City People, TV Instagram Live Chat, to mark his Iba Adams 50th birthday that leaving out the spiritual aspect tantamount to abandoning Blackman’s potent weapon that is lethal to pandemic.
He said that litany of spirituality and sacrifice had been used in the past to combat pandemic, saying he does not see any reason for not harnessing the spiritual aspect in the government efforts to sweep the country clean of corona virus.
Iba Adams gave kudos to the government on comprehensive orthodox medication provided at various isolation centres throughout the country that had led to discharging of 319 treated patients and lauded the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for its all inclusive efforts to educate people on how to stay safe to stop the spread of the disease.
Aare noted that Coronavirus was not the first pandemic to ravage Africa and Nigeria, adding that spiritual weapon usually aids the effectiveness of herbs used to treat such pandemic in the past. The leaving out of spirituality in the fight against Covid-19 has defanged a quick devastation of the virus, he said.
Iba Adams stressed that while he was not opposed to orthodox treatment of the disease, he urged the government to look inward by making use of local herbs in its efforts to flatten the cuff of the pandemic.
He said the government should emulate Madagascal President, Andry Rajoulina, who had encouraged his people to resort to the use of home-nade tea from local herbs to treat Covid-19. Aare stressed that China came up with er peculiar solution to treat the disease and said that Nigeria could not afford to always look up to Western European countries and the USA for solutions to our health challenges.
He asserted that there were a lot of international politicking at the World Health Organisation (WHO) tilted to ensuring that big multi-trillion dollar Euro-American pharmaceutical firms hugely benefitted from the rampage of the disease.
