Clears the air over news of court restraining Dr Olatunde Oginni ’s installation as the Oba of Oranpon
The Ejemo of Odogbo-Ijesa, Chief Jacob Adedeji Adeyeye, has cleared the air over the news of an order and interim injunction restraining the Ogboni of Odogbo-Ijesa from installing Dr Olatunde Oginni as the Oba of Oranpon, describing it as laughable and a case of non-issue.
Reacting on behalf HRH Oba Olatunde Oginni JP, Chief Adeyeye said the monarch who is his principal is a law-abiding citizen who will not like to prejudice any case that is already in court. However, it becomes imperative to set the record straight in order not to mislead the general public by the publication.
“I’m the Ejemo of Odogbo-Ijesa where HRH Olatunde Oginni was installed by the traditional institution of the community as the first Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesa on 20th of January 2012 after more than 150 people within the community signed the letter that was written to Osun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy matters demanding for the enthronement of Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesa.”
“Olatunde Oginni has shown to be a worthy leader that can be relied upon since he was installed as Aro ii of this Odogbo-Ijesa in 2009, and considering his contributions to the development of our this town through numerous projects running into several millions of naira, we the progressive-minded citizen of the town, after several deliberations and consultations resolved to elevates him to be our traditional leader.
“Nobody has ever occupied such a post in the town’s history, so it is not controversial or clashes with any existing title.
“We don’t have any issue with all other titles which include that of ‘Likure of Odogbo-Ijesa’. And I’m happy to inform you that an ultra-modern palace for the Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesa has just been concluded,” said Chief Adeyeye in his reaction to the news.
