What  K1 Told PASUMA When He Visited Him

by City People

Since Oganla Fuji, Pasuma, lost his mum, Alhaja Adija Kuburat Ashabi Odetola, popularly called (Iyawo Anobi) last Thursday 6th April, 2023 and buried her the next day, his Omole residence has been a beehive of activity, as friends and well-wishers have been going to commiserate with him. Very eminent Nigerians have also been going to greet him.

Because of the huge number of visitors, he has had to erect 2 big tents outside his house, to accommodate the deluge. Once many of his guests arrive, they usual sit down for long hours to sympathise with him.

A lot of Islamic clerics and Imams have been visiting him, daily to pray for the repose of his mothers soul.

One of those who visited him last Sunday was the King of Fuji, K1, who is also the Mayegun of Yorubaland. He stormed Pasuma’s house in the company of some of his boys.

He drove himself like he loves to do, in a special white Hiace Luxurious Pick Up and he looked regale in his flowing Agbada. Immediately he arrived, he greeted the Alfas and the multitude of guests seated outside the house and walked in to see Pasuma, accompanied by Hon. Olasoju, Ganiyu Ayinde X1 De Future and Gaji.

K1 joined some of the Islamic clerics he met inside Pasuma’s living room to pray for the repose of the soul of Pasuma’s mum.

He recalled all the good things Pasuma’s mum, Iyawo Anobi did in her lifetime.

After K1 was ushered in, he prayed for Pasuma and told him that he was lucky for his mum to have passed on during the Holy month of Ramadan. He said that is a blessing from God. And he explained that God only gives that kind of blessing to only a few people. “Usually, many pray to God to let them pass on peacefully during the Holy month of Ramadan, but God does not always grant everybody that blessing and request, he explained”.

“Not everyone has that Grace. Only God knows the actual Time and Date”.

“But your mum tried. She saw you to a point where you can stand on your own. She saw you to a point where you can no longer be afraid”.

“She trained you well. She has invested in you. She took you from being an ordinary person to becoming a Star. You should also brace up and be a man. You should stand up and take up the challenge”. “All the troubles and challenges that you were to face have been taken away by your mum. Your mum, before she passed on had paid her dues. She has put together a package, which she handed over to some people to take care of on her behalf. God will not take it a way from them”.

He prayed for Pasuma. He waxed philosophical. He said Pasuma’s mum had put together a load, which all mothers usually prepare and she has put it where she should put it. He prayed that now that his mother is no more, all those who will make him derail from his set path to glory will not succeed. He prayed that all those who will want to dismantle the package which his mum had arranged will not succeed.

K1 told the congregation led by the Alfas that immediately he heard about the sad news, he got in touch with Jibola (which is the name K1 calls Pasuma) to commiserate with him. He said although the woman who died is Pasuma’s biological mum, she is also mum to many others. “She is not Pasuma’s mum alone. She is also a mum to many others, like him, K1. He said even though his own biological mum is Alimo Shadia, Pasuma’s mum has also played the role of a mum to him. “In Yorubaland, there is a saying that it is 4 eyes of the father and  mother that watches over a child, but 20 other eyes also support in watching over a child and bringing the child up”.

“One of those other eyes who watched over me is late Mama Adijat. In  her lifetime and now, that she is no more, Pasuma and I are together in this. We are all children of Mama. I am happy for 2 things that God has done for Pasuma”.

God made sure that Pasuma was at home in Lagos when it happened. That enabled him to quickly take charge of his mum’s burial. He was in town when the incident happened. He wasn’t far away. He promptly responded when he was called on. That is the first thing God did for him. Because if it had been the other way round. If Pasuma had not been around, it would have been an offence. God blessed Pasuma. He was around”.

“The 2nd one is that Pasuma’s mum prayed to God to let her children survive her. That has happened. Pasuma should thank God that he has survived his mum. There are so many parents who pray to God that God should let their kids survive them but this never happened. That is not the case for Pasuma”.

“He survived his mother. We thank God for that. We thank God that Pasuma is alive to be the one burrying his mum. That alone is enough thanks giving”.

He also thanked the Imams that they should continue to pray for Pasuma. He said the fact that they are committed to the Quran in what they do has made them to be very special in the eyes of Allah.

Pasuma in his speech at the prayers thanked K1 for all the prayers and nice things he said about his mum. He revealed that when his mum was alive, she used to tell him that whenever she passes on she should be buried according to Muslim rites and be buried immediately. She also said she should not be taken to the Cemetery or those fancy burial grounds around Lagos or any far place to be buried. She wants to be buried in her home.

“She always reminds me all the time. So I did that for her. Since the burial, last Friday people have been wondering if my Oga will come? Now, he is here. He is like a father to me. My other father figure is Alhaji Kollington Ayinla. I have come a long way with K1”.

“Many do not know that it was in 1984 when I left secondary school that Talaso came out. Talaso 84 was the record that made K1 popular. 1984 was when I left secondary school at Nigerian Model Collge”.

The 8-Day Fidau of Pasuma’s mum will hold this week Friday, and K1 has promised to be there, to attend the prayers. He cancelled his Thursday trip abroad, to enable him attend the event. He has also offered to support the arrangement of the grand event.
