•Reveals How They 1st Met In LONDON
Ovation Publisher, Bashorun Dele Momodu, is 60. He celebrated his birthday yesterday, Saturday, 16th May, 2020, with a Zoom party. Before his birthday, he spoke with City People about how he had met very many Nigerian celebrities, one of whom is the Rev. Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi, the founder of the Love of Christ Generation Church (Cherubim & Seraphim) in London, a few years ago.
He also revealed the kind of person she is. It was on Citypeople TV Instagram Live Chat. As he answered his questions he said one of the viewers ask him a question to talk about Rev. Esther Ajayi and how they met.
“Someone just mentioned Iya Adura, the Rev. Esther Ajayi, that I should talk about her. Haa! Where do I start from? (Laughs) Iya Adura is one of the most influential women in Nigeria today.
“She is one of the greatest human beings. I won’t say women. She is one of the greatest human beings I have ever encountered. No one will believe I met her fewer than 3 years ago.”
“A young man had approached me that he wanted me to meet Iya Adura. We call him brother Paseda. I said why not? But unfortunately, the day he met me I was travelling out of London that day. In fact, I had checked in at the airport and Paseda called me and said he was with Iya Adura.”
“I said ah, okay, I had never met her. I had never spoken to her and I just said my dearest Mummy. She was shocked. That is the thing about me.
Maybe because I had worked with a lot of great people, I know how to respect people. Between the time Paseda talked to me about her and when he called back, I studied a few things and turned it over in my mind and I thought okay. This must be a good woman of God.
He said I should hold on for Mama. And I just said Hello, My Dearest Mummy! And she also said Haa! Baba mi Dele Momodu. And till today that is how she greets me. I said how are you ma. She said I am fine. She said is it true you are at the airport? I said yes ma. She said, Please don’t go.
She didn’t want me to go . I said I have checked in my bags. But I was told you were going to have a special anniversary in September. She said, Yes. Would you be able to make it? I said Yes. I gave her my word.
I said I would make it. And that was it. And from that moment, till today, I have become a member of her family. I saw a very determined woman. I saw a much maligned woman. I saw a woman who lives totally on Jesus Christ & God.”
I have every reasonable evidence that if there are prayer warriors, left in this world, Iya Adura is one of them. She would tell you things and you can take it to the bank. I discovered that she is a woman who overflows with milk of human kindess. It is unbelievable.
I am not sure there is anything that Mama would not do to make people around her happy. And that is why you can see how God sent her as the Esther of our time to turn round the fortunes of Cherubim & Seraphim.
Before now, a lot of people, when they are going to the White Garment Churches, they put on their White Garments in their church and remove their normal outfits and they do the same when they are about going home. But she has changed all of that today.
Today, people proudly wear their White Garments. I have travelled extensively with her round Africa, in Europe, in America and I saw how people stopped her to admire her outfits. And she is never tired of people stopping her.”
“She takes pictures with all of them. She is an authentic celebrity. God has been so kind to her. I can’t begin to identify or list the things I have learnt from this great woman of God. We were at United Nations (UN) together and you would not believe that this woman sponsored an entire speech at the United Nations where she addressed people and people who came from everywhere to listen to her.”
