+ Sensitization Programs Organized To Emphasize the Need For Regular Medical Checkups
The recently concluded medical outreach was not only a success but also a starting point for various activities aimed at raising awareness, educating, and updating the residents of Araromi Odo Community and the neighbouring CDAs. The program, which was rescheduled, began by welcoming vulnerable residents from Freeman, Herbert Macaulay, Kadara, Willoughby, Oloto, Boronu Way, and Denton Street. They were thoroughly examined by medical experts from the Nigerian Red Cross (Unilag Branch), members of the Lagos State Aids Control Agency, Folab Dental Care, and ABIMSLOVE4ALL, who have been involved in medical outreach for five years.
The executives who are ready to hit the ground running have pledged to surpass their previous records of community engagement and ensure quality representation for the beneficiaries. The Chairman, Comrade Abowaba Adedapo, who was unavoidably absent, was represented by the secretary, Comrade Ayo Morris. He reiterated the commitment of the newly installed individuals occupying various positions, promising to utilize established platforms, address pressing needs by partnering with other community associations, and reestablish their relationship with the state government to reach the grassroots.
While acknowledging the State Government led by Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu for the various interventions put in place to achieve his Theme Agenda, Sharafadin Owolabi also recognises the efforts of the Lagos Mainland Executive Chairman, Hon. Omolola Rashidat Essien, who is known as a listener, mother, teacher, and an astute politician. She prioritizes good governance amidst lingering challenges. Similarly, the leadership of the association also acknowledges the active engagement of Hon. Ajani, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Mainland Constituency 1.
In conclusion, the convener, Amb. (Comr.) Kassim Sharafadin Owolabi, along with the Assistant Secretary, expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed in any way. They promised to always represent the interests of the people and continue to contribute to the well-being of community members. A vote of thanks was also extended to the Lagos State Government, through The Lagos State AIDS Control Agency, Lagos Mainland Local Government, ABIMSLOVE4ALL Initiative, Folab Dental Care, Nigerian Red Cross, Iyalode of Lagos, and others.
