The Oluwo of Iwoland Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has explained that whenever people call me Kabiyeesi I give all glory back to God because he is the Kabiyeesi.
He told Citypeople Online that a few days ago during the City People TV Instagram Live chat. While the programme was on a caller called to greet him and he called Oluwo Kabiyeesi. Immediately the caller mentioned the word Kabiyeesi, the Oluwo quickly responded by saying Olorun ni kabiyeesi ki se emi.
City People then asked him why he said so and he explained that it was because he is not the Kabiyeesi. “I am not the real Kabiyeesi. I am not the real king. The real king is God. God himself is the King. God himself is the Kabiyeesi. l am just representing him.l have been sent to represent God. I am standing in for him.l am representing God. That is how all kings are supposed to be. They are not the real king. The meaning of Oluwo is Oluwa Oba Iwo, the God of Iwo, Oluwa Iwo, Olorun Iwo. l am not the Oluwo. I am just representing God himself who is the Oluwo. It is very spiritual, very deep. The palace of the king is the palace of God on earth.
As the adage goes Oba kii pe keji ni afin. What this means is that all Obas should not bow down to anything in the palace other than the king which is God.
So when they prostrate for me as Kabiyeesi I have to send that Glory back to Kabiyeesi himself. I have to give him that honour. They gave me the honour because I am representing Kabiyeesi himself in the flesh. That is why l have to keep worshipping him by saying Kabiyeesi Olodumare….
