A former National Chairman of Peoples-Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, is no longer on the political radar of Rivers State, his home state since he was forcefully removed from office by
Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. The Andonni Local Government Area politician was first removed as a member of PDP at his ward. The removal shocked him to his marrow. None of the cases he instituted against the PDP and his ward executive has seen the light of the day.
As of the time of filing this report, Prince Uche Secondus has not moved to any other political party as reasons for removing him from office may not be unconnected with the 2023 presidential ambition of his state governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. From 1999 to 2021, Prince Uche Secondus had been active in Rivers State and national politics having started as a youth leader before 1999 and ended up as a National Chairman of PDP.
In Port Harcourt, where he resides at a choice estate close to Government House Old GRA, Prince Uche Secondus was said to be conspicuously absent. His wife a retired public servant and a founder of a Pentecostal Church was unwilling to speak on his whereabouts. Now, Prince Uche Secondus, loyalists are searching for a political leader to help them with their aspirations. They are finding it difficult to progress in the present political arrangement where Governor Wike is absolutely in charge of appointing councillors and any other government official.
