Many people do not know why the National Working Committee of the APC dissolved the exco of Ogun APC. We can tell you how it all happened. A one page letter was sent to Chief Derin Adebiyi, the Chairman of All Progressives Congress, (APC), Ogun State Chapter, Abeokuta, The headline reads: Dissolution of the Ogun State APC Executive Committee.
“The National Working Committee (NWC) has observed with deep concern the attitude of some members of the party who lost out during the Party’s Primary Elections by joining other political parties in the pursuit of their political ambitions while still claiming to be party (APC) members.
As a believer of the rights of individuals to belong to any political organisation, the party holds no objection to such moves.
The party however, objects in strong terms the dual loyalty and attitude by some officials of the party who openly support and canvass for support for those members who have left the party. Also of great concern to the party is that these officials continue to support such members while holding onto their executive positions. The National Working Committee (NWC) considers such actions as amounting to gross disloyalty and anti-party activities whose disciplinary measure is clearly spelt out in the constitution of the party.
The National Working Committee (NWC) at its 36th Regular Meeting of Tuesday 18th December, 2018 having considered the above development in the party in Imo State, resolved to dissolve the entire state, Local Government and Ward Executive Committees of the party with immediate effect.
You are, in the light of the foregoing, hereby directed to handover all assets and documents of the party to the leadership of the Caretaker Committee set up to oversee the affairs of the party in the state.
The letter was signed by Comrade Adams Oshiomole, the National Chairman of the APC.
