There is a Naija artiste who is currently making waves globally. He is the rave of the moment right now. He is called ASAKE. Asake recently released the official video of his hit song ‘Joha’ which was directed by Creative Director/Cinematographer, TG Omori.
The colorful and spicy video features a dance performance as well as radiant visuals, using beautiful colours such as yellow, black, white, and red to depict the symbolic relationship between art and dance. The 3-minute cinematic scene also features the trending dance steps for ‘Joha’ for which the singer recently started a dance challenge on his Instagram.
The fun-filled video which dropped on Thursday, 6th October, 2022 is Asake’s first visuals since the release of his chart-topping debut album ‘Mr Money With The Vibe’ last month. And wait for this. Asake is scheduled to perform at the 4,921-capacity prestigious O2 Academy Brixton in London in December.
The concert is part of his forthcoming tour for ‘Mr. Money With The Vibe,’ his debut album, in the UK.

Lets tell you more. Ahmed Ololade (born 13 January 1995), known professionally as Asake, is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter. He is signed to YBNL Nation and Empire Distribution. His stage name pays homage to his mother, whose first name is Asake.
Asake studied Theatre & Performing Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State. Although he had been releasing music since 2018, his musical career progressed further in 2020 when he released the single “Mr. Money”. A remix with Zlatan and Peruzzi followed. He continued to release more singles including “Medusa” and “Yan Yan” before he was signed by YBNL in February 2022.
In February 2022, Asake released his debut extended play “Ololade,” which featured Asake’s breakthrough song “Omo Ope” featuring Olamide. Another hit single that was released off the extended play would be “Sungba” which was remixed a month later with a verse from Nigerian artist Burna Boy. Asake would later go on to sign a distribution deal with Empire in July 2022.
Asake released his debut studio album, “Mr. Money With the Vibe” on September 8th, 2022, seven months after the release of his debut EP. The album was supported by the hit singles, “Terminator”, “Peace Be Unto You” and the “Sungba” remix with Burna Boy. The album received high praise from fans in his home country of Nigeria, as well as across the world, and went on to break several records globally. He also went ahead to organize a global tour for his debut album, going ahead to sell out the O2 Academy Brixton in London.
Asake is renowned for his amazing vocal dexterity, as well as the delivery of a feel good vibe.
