•The Story Of The DUBAI Socialite Burnt To Death

•How He Will Be Buried This Week In LAGOS

It is no longer news that popular Dubai based socialite and philanthropist, Kayode Badru, was involved in a grievous freak accident which left him severely burnt during a deliverance session at Celestial Church of Christ and died at a hospital in Gbagada, Lagos. City People gathered that his body caught fire during a prayer session at the Church and he was rushed to a hospital, where he eventually died on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

The late Kayode Badru had landed in Lagos from Dubai to attend the graduation ceremony of 40 students he gave scholarships to study at Academy For Innovative Art and Technology – (ACIATECH).

After the graduation ceremony, he visited his Church on Wednesday for Isegun – (Victory) programme and was asked to come out and kneel down in the middle of the Church and was surrounded with white candles. He also held one candle in his hand not knowing what will befall him.

While kneeling down, the Prophet of the Church began to spray perfume on his body and within a few minutes, his body was on fire due to his closeness to the candles and strong attraction from the perfume which are by composition highly inflammable. He got badly burnt and was rushed to the hospital, where he eventually died. There have been reactions over the death, which was largely attributed to ignorance and negligence by the Prophet, who did not know that the perfume he was spraying on the late Kayode Badru was highly inflammable and could trigger a fire explosion.

But there have also been other reports suggesting that the fire incident may have been planned to conceal what was actually a premeditated murder. The story goes on to say the late socialite may have been involved in a deal with the prophet who conducted the deliverance and who, according to the report has in his possession late Kayode Badru’s 30 million naira.

One of the brothers of the late socialite was quoted to have said, “My brother was asked to  kneel down, a prophet began to spray perfume on his body and he also held one candle in his hands surrounded by seven elders. Within a few minutes, his body was on fire due to his closeness to the candle sticks and strong attraction from the perfume.

He was rushed to a hospital in Gbagada, where he eventually died. But before he died, he told me, my brother, I heard a voice telling me, “is this how you are going to end your life” and immediately I tried to understand what that means and all I heard was an explosion and I was feeling so hot with fire burning me.”

“My brother told me that the incident wasn’t natural and that if he died in this cause, his death would fight back. The shepherd in charge of the act, prophet Felix Alebiosu, ran away immediately the incident was reported at Panti. We went to arrest his dad, hours later he surfaced and the father was released the following day but he (Felix) came into the police custody without being remorseful. Two out of the seven elders are in Police custody while others are at large. The two are not even talking sensibly, I think they are under a kind of spell. People must be careful before going into any church to worship.” The police at Panti seems not taking the matter seriously as I learnt he is being treated like a VIP, my brother told me about some money involving him and Felix, the shepherd. There is more to it than meet the eyes.”

By the time this publication went to press last week, the committee of friends had announced his burial arrangement.

His burial rites will begin this week, on Wednesday 19th 2021 with a candle light procession from his family house at 7 Kokamo Street, behind County Hospital, Aguda to Excellence Hotel frontage. Time 6pm and from 7.30pm to 10pm there will be Tributes/Artistes performance at Excellence Hotel, Ogba, Lagos.

On Thursday 20th May, 2021, there will be Christian Wake Keep/Service of Songs at his residence in New Oko Oba at 6pm.

On Friday 21st May 2021, there will be interment @ his residence at New Oko Oba at 10a.m.

Meanwhile, the Celestial Church of Christ, both home and abroad, have received the shocking news of the death of Kayode Badru popularly known as Kay Money with great shock and pain. This is because the late Kayode Badru was a cheerful giver. He was known as one of the most consistent philanthropists within the Celestial fold. He was often invited to several programmes held at different parishes of the Celestial Church of Christ and he would donate big to support their various expansion projects. City People found out that for most of the parishes, whenever they needed to start or complete a project undertaken by the church, Kay Money as he was fondly called, was one of those financial pillars they often relied on. And he rarely ever failed them. He always donated heavily to support them. This is why they are in utter shock and grief at the news of his death because they know how much they will miss him and his generosity towards the church and its members.

It is ironical that the man who has been described as a man with an incredibly large heart had actually left his Dubai base to fly down to Nigeria to witness the graduation ceremony of 40 students he gave scholarships to study at Academy For Innovative Art and Technology – (ACIATECH) and these students were largely members of the church. This was the primary reason why he traveled down to Nigeria in the first place and, sadly, he died in the process of giving back to the church, a cause he believed in so passionately. This is why the Celestial Church worldwide will not forget him in a hurry. This is why they will miss him greatly. Kayode Badru was a man who opened up his large heart and gave to them till the very moment he breathed his last. Surely, they will miss him greatly.
