When music star, Davido decided to marry his hearthrob, Chioma almost two weeks ago, many were happy for Chioma for ultimately winning the heart of Davido. One question many kept asking was how Chioma was able to sweep Davido off his feet, enough for him to decide to marry her officially.

Over the years, people had come to see Davido as a Ladies man who would find it difficult to settle down easily because of his stardom and huge success. Over the years also, Davido has been romantically linked with many beautiful babes; some of whom have kids for him, but who he did not marry.

So, many people just assumed that Chioma might end up being one of these many babes.

But lo and behold, Davido proved them wrong. He got married to Chioma and fulfilled all the marriage requirements.

Many don’t know that the journey to their wedlock began 2 years ago, when Davido and the Adeleke family paid her bride price and other requirements demanded by Chioma’s family. And after they lost their son, they got married traditionally, but in a very low key manner. The recent event was just a wine carrying ceremony.

This is because the wine carrying wedding of Music star, Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke and his lovely wife Chioma Ejiofor was Grand in every respect. On Tuesday 25th June, 2024 at the Harbour Point, 4 Wilmot Point-Road, Victoria Island, Lagos, the Adeleke and Ejiofor families became one, at the traditional wedding ceremony of their children.

It was a star-studded traditional wedding.

Days before the wedding there had been a mad rush for IV’s to the wedding. Everyone wanted to have the IV.

A lot of celebrities who couldn’t get an Invite did everything humanly possible to be at the wedding. Many people bombarded the 2 families for invites. Entrance into the wedding was restricted.

Before the D-Day, Davido had shared stunning pre-wedding photos with his partner Chioma, sending fans into a frenzy of excitement! The beautiful pictures, released on his X handle platform, showed the loving couple’s chemistry and happiness, just 48 hours before their highly anticipated wedding on June 25th.

The photos was flooded with admiration and well-wishes from fans and celebrities alike, with many praising the couple’s Love and Commitment to each other. The pictures offerred a glimpse into the joy and Excitement building up to the big day, and many couldn’t wait to see what was in store for the couple!

In anticipation of their big day, Davido and friends of the bride, Chioma, had surprised her with a late-night bridal shower.

In a video, Chioma was seen dancing and enjoying herself as she was serenaded by Iyanya.

She wore a crown and a sash that read “Bride-to-be” as her loved ones cheered her on.

This surprise party came ahead of her big day with Davido. So, why did Davido marry Chioma? Insiders say it is because of her perseverance and all that she went through with him. Many of Davido’s friends say of all the ladies he has dated Chioma is the most accommodating. She is said to be very patient and understanding of Davido’s excesses. It is also because of her stunning beauty. Davido has spoken about her beauty several times. She is also a very decent lady who complies with Davido’s instructions.  Over the years she has come to accept Davido for who he is.

Unlike others, she knows that as a Super star, he will have ladies  mill round him all over the globe, but knows she has a place in his heart. She also knows that Davido truly loves him. Davido tells him that all the time. And she believes him.

Let’s tell you a little more about Davido. Though his real name is David Adedeji Adeleke he is known professionally as Davido. He is a Singer, Songwriter and record producer. He is regarded as one of the most important Afrobeats artists of the 21st century, and for popularizing the genre globally.

Davido was born in Atlanta, United States, and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He made his music debut as a member of the group, KB International. Davido studied Business administration at Oakwood University before dropping out to make beats and record vocal references. He rose to fame after releasing “Dami Duro”, the Second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo (2012), from which 6 additional singles—”Back When”, “Ekuro”, “Overseas”, “All of You”, “Gbon Gbon” and “Feel Alright”—were taken. In 2012, Davido won the Next Rated award at The Headies. Between 2013 and 2015, he released the hit singles “Gobe”, “One of a Kind”, “Skelewu”, “Aye”, “Tchelete (Goodlife)”, “Naughty”, “Owo Ni Koko”, “The Sound” and “The Money”.

Davido was born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. His father Adedeji Adeleke is a business magnate, and his mother Vero Adeleke (1963–2003) was a university lecturer. Davido is the youngest of 5 siblings and his father’s third-born son. He attended the British International School in Lagos, and at the age of 16, he returned to the U.S. to study Business administration at Oakwood University, Alabama.

While at Oakwood, Davido bought musical equipment and started making beats. He also formed the music act KB International with his cousins B-Red and Sina Rambo. Davido dropped out of Oakwood University to pursue music full-time and relocated to London, where he worked on his vocals. After returning to Nigeria in 2011, Davido paused his music career and agreed to honour his father by enrolling at Babcock University, from which he graduated in July 2015, with a degree in Music after his father got the university to start a Music department for an inaugural class of one student.
