“It’s unfair to have three ministers from Ogun State without Senator Gbenga Obadara, who played a key role in starting the Tinubu Presidency in Ogun State and the South West. He was also one of the defenders of Asiwaju during the SARS era when others were not courageous enough to openly identify with the struggle, including many APC governors.”
Some few years back when the political journey started, it was akin to a parable of the wicked Tenants in the scripture. Asiwaju’s Beneficiaries were his traducers who venomously spit evil to destroy the temple of his personality. Today, however, everyone wants to be identified with victor and success.
Many disciples of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu were chastised for just no reason but for evangelizing Tinubu for the Presidency.
Some stepped back in order to preserve the crumbs their paymaster gave them while some did not care, but carried on with the evangelism despite obstacles and hardships suffered in the hands of these villains called Emperors. They suffered patiently but were hopeful that this day would come.
Kudos to the Leadership of South-west Agenda SWAGA ’23. They deserve accolades. Since it was established in early 2021, it has been proactive and made the journey to victory easy.
SWAGA Leadership Ogun State Chapter, prior to any other families associating themselves after success with Tinubu’s victory, has seen Jesus before his return to Galilee. The man that has watered it through and happily coordinated the activities successfully where others even the people at the top refused to come on board is One man called SENATOR GBENGA OBADARA.
Senator Olugbenga Obadara, a Chieftain and One of the Leaders of Nigeria’s ruling Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), a Grassroot Politician par excellence and a member of the 7th Assembly who served meritoriously with landmark achievements. Without any iota of doubt, left an indelible mark on the political stage of Ogun Central Senatorial District and Nigeria at large.
With his deep interest in the affairs of the Country, he was instrumental to the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR in the General Elections. This was orchestrated in the way he motivated people around him to achieve a high level of mobilizing support for Asiwaju and calming people down in the face of adversity and challenging situations in the hands of traducers.
He is One of the very few who incurred risk in time and resources in Ogun State, Chairman of SWAGA Ogun State and a Co-State Coordinator of Tinubu Shettima Grassroot Independent Campaign Council (TSGICC), Ogun State.
He had travelled far and wide Southwest, even to South-south and North-central, evangelizing Tinubu Presidency, not minding the risk of insecurity, unreliable transportation system and the potential likelihood of a negative outcome.
Many of his kinds, were beset with cruelty and malignity. They were denied elective positions in their various states, only because they championed Tinubu’s Presidency, amazingly not as a different Political party or opponent in the State.
Surprisingly, it came as a shock despite the political tributes of Senator Obadara, he is refused honour and a due recognition in the nomination of Ministerial Nominees in the State.
Hence, it is denigrating the legendary of Senator Obadara, belittling his Loyalists and rendering them worthless. As a result of this, it does not build a strong relationship for the future.
His Loyalists are bitterly complaining and critically querying the fact that what qualified the nomination of the Three (3) Ministers, Wale Edun, Bosun Tijani and Ishaq Salako more than their Leader Senator Gbenga Obadara.
They further argued that those who were Anti-Tinubu, that opposed to his principles are the major beneficiaries in the State.
In their remarks, They argued that it is beyond what is obvious, that Senator Gbenga Obadara is a change embracer, a strong communicator, a flexible, stabilizer, a visionary Leader and a people’s person.
They opined that there is no doubt the fact that at this critical moment, Nigeria needs versatile heads to manage her prevalent rotted Socio-economic and Political apparatus and Mr. President needs a proactive mind and decision-making Minister who can make tough decisions under pressure and not someone who will shy away from coming up with diligent solutions.
All of these formed part of the competence and capabilities of Senator Obadara.
Such a Minister must possess excellent organisation, negotiating skills and a logical approach to solving problems.
Much of these peculiarities can be attributed to Senator Olugbenga Onaolapo Obadara who has handled government activities both Nationally as a member of 7th Assembly, Internationally represented Nigeria at the ECOWAS PARLIAMENT, and at the United Nations represented ECOWAS for a good four years providing a logical coherence to decision-making.
He is a Harvard-trained person with decisive, committed, innovative and realistic minded and a grassroots politician with the fear of God, a Technocrat and an Entrepreneur of note as he was the FIRST to establish PREPAID CALLING CARD PLATFORMS in Nigeria and in the UNITED KINGDOM.
He is also the FIRST African to start bringing African Foodstuff to the United Kingdom in Containers.
His personality, performance, competence and tactics as a Senator have been unequalled, unparalleled and unmatched in project performance and development in the history of Ogun Central Senatorial district.
He was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercial and the only Chairman of the Senate Committee from opposition from the South West of Nigeria in the 7th Assembly.
Perhaps, They appealed that while Mr. President is trying to woo Veterans for political advantage, he should not deprive in the process of those who played instrumental roles in the success of this government, if the party does not want to lose her widespread support and confidence.
There is always a new beginning. It gives us the motivation to keep going and never lose hope. It is critical at this moment, that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu addresses this concern and ensure that the party’s supporters and every tendency that contributed to his victory at polls are well represented.
