Why Epe People Want Hon. Ogunkelu Sylvester To Represent Them Again In Lagos State House of Assembly

As the popular witty saying goes; a good term deserves another. This is expected as Honourable Ogunkelu Sylvester, a brilliant Lagos lawmaker representing Epe Constituency II being tipped by the people for re-election into Lagos state House of Assembly at the forthcoming March 18th gubernatorial and state assembly election in the state.

Ogunkelu who is popularly known as Sketel is a lawmaker per excellence whose representation in the state house has greatly impacted on the people of Epe Constituency II. His benevolence gestures and massive empowerment initiative stands him out.

The lawmaker who is contesting under the All Progress Congress (APC) has never rested on his oars. Within his 4 years term in the state house of assembly, he has carved a niche for himself as a true man of the people. His involvement and intervention projects speak volume.

He understands the need to empower the people of his constituency as a means of improving their standard of living. In less than 4 years, he has distributed numerous economically viable materials to support and help improve SMEs in his constituency. He gave out grinding machines, sewing machines, vulcanizing machines, barber’s clippers and generators, deep freezers, hair dryers with hair washing basins, mowers for primary and secondary schools to ease clearing grass in their premises, and crash helmets and reflective jackets for bike men. These items were distributed in large quantities to ensure it covered beneficiaries across the entire 11 wards that made up the constituency.

Ogunkelu periodically distributes a sum of N10, 000 each as hand out to 500 beneficiaries amongst whom are aged people as a way of supporting them. His active engagement in the distribution of Covid-19 palliative and relief funds were laudable. He ensured that the people of his constituency got a fair share of the relief material from the government.

As a way of building a greater tomorrow, Ogunkelu extended his project to schools in his constituency by renovating and building classrooms in many schools in the community. Among the beneficiaries are Okemagba High School Mojoda, Eredo LCDA, Odomola junior high school, Eredo LCDA, St’ Patrick Senior Grammar School, and AUD Odo-Egiri. Every year, he freely gives out nothing less than 250 UTME forms to encourage indigent students seeking further education to meet their dreams. He also organizes and finances free Jamb Coaching Classes for them.

He has also given out a number of scholarships to brilliant and outstanding students. 10 students from his constituency in Epe are already enjoying his full scholarship scheme enabling them to study at the prestigious Lagos State University while 3 other young and bright minds are on a full scholarship studying at the University Of Cyprus.

As a lawmaker in the Lagos State House of Assembly, he offered free eye sanitation and free eye cataract surgery for 200 eye patients from his constituency in 2019. He has been conducting periodic free health sensitization outreach from 2020 till date with each outreach recording massive patronage.

Honourable Ogunkelu Sylvester Oluwadahunsi has also done remarkably well in the Construction of several boreholes in his constituency. These were done in wards such as M1 (Odomola,Ajagbede Odo-Egiri), L1 (Noforija,Araga), F1 (Odoayandelu), Q1 (Ejinrin), and R1 (Temu).

He also facilitated the construction of big solar-powered boreholes by the state government to Ebute Ikosi, the construction of Itamarun Iraye Road, the completion of abandoned road construction of Thomas street Agbowa, the delivery of 2 Transformers to Owu Community in Ikosi Ejinrin as well as the building of a jetty point at Ebute Ikosi Agbowa. All these and many more are the reasons Honourable Ogunkelu is very popular among the people. They see him as a man they are proud of. He would go to any extent to put smiles on the face of the people. The People are strongly behind him. They are very much ready, come March 18th, to re-elect him into the Lagos state House of Assembly so that they can continue to enjoy his great and impactful representation.
