Since she lost her husband in the 90s, popular actress, Toyin Adegbola who many call Asewo To Re Mecca, (an alias coined after the movie that launched her to limelight) has refused to remarry.
In a recent interview with City People Online, the veteran actress revealed why she has refused to remarry, despite many eligible men who have piled up immense pressure on her. She said matter of factly that it is because of the love she has for her 3 kids that made me decide not to remarry. “When my husband was alive, he did not stop me from acting.
He always encouraged me. When he now died, I sat down with my little kids to discuss with them. I have 3 kids, a boy and 2 girls. We now decided that the best thing is for me is to continue with acting. That I should not think of getting married any longer. We all decided on that. They were still young then. But I just told them that they are my priority.
I wanted to face them and my job, because if I chose to remarry then, I might not be able to give them what they will be needing from me. I might not be able to give them total attention because anybody that I marry then or I choose to marry may also want to come between us. He might not treat them like their dad will do. I thank God. Since then God has helped me to train them”.
She and her late husband worked as staff of BCOS Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State. He was then in the Radio arm and she was at the TV Section of BCOS.
