Can you tell us more about yourself?

My name is Adekunle Samuel Adeniyi, I am a 31-year-old Fashion enthusiast from Oyo state Nigeria. I’m the creative director of Neyo stitches and also the founder. I am not a graduate, but an SSCE Holder. I have loved fashion ever since I was a teenager and I wasn’t paying enough attention in school. My parents had to sit me down and ask me what I really want if I have no interest in schooling. I didn’t even think twice. I just told them I wanted to be a fashion designer. I was taken to where I learned how to sew and learn more about fashion in Ibadan. After my training, I came to Lagos to learn and seek for more knowledge about fashion which helped my fashion career till now.

How long have you been into fashion designing?

I have been in the fashion industry for almost 10 years now.

What inspired your brand name?

What inspired my brand name is simple. As you know my surname is Adeniyi and people tend to call me Niyi Neyo. My love for the music artist called Neyo also influenced it. I just added the stitches which describe what I really love doing and you know good stitches is what defines our work. That is how I got “Neyo Stiches”.

Who are your core target clients?

I don’t define my core target, anyone who wants good stitches and wants to look good are welcome at Neyo Stitches.

How affordable are your clothes?

While my tailored wears may reflect the dedication to quality and precision, I strive to offer competitive and fair pricing. The value lies in the unique, customized experience and the high-quality materials used to craft each piece.

Any new collection? Tell us more about it.

I had some collection releases this December which also featured at the Bristol fashion in the UK and also have plans to release more collections early 2024.

Can you mention some of your celebrity clients?

I haven’t got any celebrity clients yet but I regard all my clients as Neyo celebrities.

Can you mention two celebrities you would love to style? And why?

I would love to style Peter and Paul Okoye(P-Square), and Daniel Anidugbe (Kiss Daniel). Reason I mentioned these celebrities is because I’ve been watching them as a fashion designer, they are very fashionable and when I am opportune to style them, I will be showcasing my craftsmanship to the world.

What are the challenges you face as a Nigerian entrepreneur?

Infrastructure Issues such as Inconsistent power supply, poor road networks, and limited access to reliable utilities hinder our production and sometimes delay our business operations.

How was your outing at the Bristol Fashion Show?

It was fantastic seeing the Neyo brand at the Birmingham fashion show, I made me believe that we are actually doing a great job and moving forward. And the show made me meet some new designers that made Neyo stitches featured in the recent Pop-UP in Birmingham.

Can you mention some other fashion shows you have graced?

Yes. We’ve featured on two runways this year. The Birmingham fashion week and Africa Fashion and Art Award (AFAA).

Which other runway show do you look forward to featuring?

African fashion week, Paris fashion week, and Liverpool fashion show

What are your future plans for your brand?

Creating a future-ready brand as a fashion designer combining traditional craftsmanship and values with modern fashion and values that will be going global. We will continue to be a sustainable brand as well
