Have you heard the inspiring story of a remarkable young woman who runs a multi-billion naira real estate company in Lagos called Simpli-Mi Homes? She is also the convener and organizer of a popular annual praise concert, Simpli-Mi Praise.
The extraordinary woman behind Simpli-Mi Homes is HRH (Dr.) Edna Wuraola Ubebe. Coming from a royal lineage, she has lived part of her life in the United Kingdom before relocating to Nigeria a few years ago. In February 2025, she celebrated her 43rd birthday.
As the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Simpli-Mi Homes, one of Nigeria’s leading real estate companies, it’s no surprise that she has become a trending topic in the industry over the past year. Since its inception in January 2020, Simpli-Mi Homes has launched several housing estates in Lekki, Ibeju Lekki, and the Epe axis of Lagos, among other areas. Through her passion for real estate, many Nigerians have become homeowners. The company offers low, medium, and high-end properties that suit a variety of budgets.
HRH Dr. Edna is an effective manager of both human and material resources, a bridge builder, and a dedicated contributor to the real estate sector. She has made significant contributions to the industry’s development through her extensive experience and expertise in property brokerage, valuation, management, real estate advisory, financial advisory, and strategic planning.
She is a proud Edo woman. Her father is from Isan, and her mother is from Ekwuoma in Delta State. She attended Emotan Primary School and then went to Federal Government Girls College in Benin for her secondary education. She later attended the University of Benin, where she obtained a Diploma in Law before proceeding to the UK.
Dr. Edna is a graduate of the University of East London, where she earned a degree in Business and Human Resource Management. She also holds a Doctor of Science degree in Real Estate Management and Development from the European-American University.
Her goodwill and virtues inspire her to advocate for the needy through her foundation, the Edna Ubebe Foundation. Through this foundation, she has empowered numerous youths and provided financial support, medical treatments, and outreach programs for vulnerable members of society, including widows, children, and the physically challenged.
In addition to her accomplishments in real estate, Dr. Edna has made a name for herself in agriculture with the establishment of ‘Simpli Mi Farms.’ Her success in these ventures is attributed to her discipline, determination, and perseverance.
In the past five years, she has founded the Edna Ubebe Foundation, empowering thousands of underprivileged individuals through various programs and activities. For the past two years, she has also been a major partner in Ojaja Park, one of Nigeria’s notable housing projects owned by HIM Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife. In her role as project coordinator, she ensures that architects and engineers adhere to essential project details. The Ojaja Park project is currently active in over four states across the nation.
Much has been said about her fashion choices in newspapers and social media. What many might not know is that she is also an evangelist, having been ordained a few years ago. She is one of the few icons in the Christian community who has significantly contributed to spreading the gospel through her annual program, Simpli Mi Praise.
Dr. Edna is a quiet achiever in the real estate sector and is a billionaire in her own right. Although she was already affluent before entering the real estate business, her journey in the sector over the past five years has further enhanced her wealth. She oversees more than five housing estates and is a major player in the Ibeju Lekki, Epe, Lekki, and Lagos Mainland areas, as well as in other cities outside the state.
