Why We Are Supporting TINUBU For Presidency – WOMEN For SWAGA

Hon. Ayo Omidiran is a reputable grassroots politician and federal lawmaker. She is the State Coordinator for South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) in Osun State and doubles as the General Coordinator for the Women’s Wing of SWAGA which is called Women for SWAGA. Omidiran who is called Mummy SWAGA is a highly experienced woman in the political realm. She had twice represented the interest of the good people of Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan federal constituency in Osun State at the Federal House of Representatives on the APC platform.

Omidiran was a special guest at the “Greet and Meet” event organised on December 5th, 2021 by the Lagos State Women For SWAGA which has Hajia Fatima Bello as the Coordinator for Lagos. During her speech at the glamorous event, Hon. Omidiran revealed a lot about why they are rooting for Asiwaju and the many things they are doing to get him into the Aso Villa in 2023. Below are the excerpts:

“We have Women for SWAGA right now in all the South-West states. And I’m pleased to tell you that as at 3 days ago, we started Women for SWAGA in Kwara. Now, this is the official first Women for Swaga event in Nigeria.

And is anybody surprised that we are starting from Lagos? Nobody should be surprised because Lagos is where it is. Lagos is where it happens. And I trust that Lagos women are the women to help us carry this forward. If you see the women here, they are all women of substance. They are not jobless people. They are not women going about asking for a hand out from anyone. They all have their jobs. They have sources of income. And these are the kind of women we are targeting in SWAGA. These are the women we want to push forward in Women for SWAGA. These women, that when they are going to canvass for support from other stakeholders, people will look at them and believe that; we are serious people.

I know that everybody here has one or two things to say about Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He has touched lives, he has touched our lives and we know that the best way to pay him is to sensitize the people towards his ambition to rule Nigeria in 2023. That sensitization is why we are not just staying at SWAGA 2023. We have branched out to the women’s wing and we have branched out to the youth wing. We have the youth wing now and we have the women wing. We have our vision and that’s why we are throwing in much passion to make sure that Bola Ahmed Tinubu gets to Aso Villa in 2023 as the President of Nigeria and God will do it for us.

Now I want to let you know that we have been going around the states of Nigeria, visiting our team, especially in the South-West States to make sure that everybody speaks with one voice towards the support we are gathering for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We have boasted that we have 12 million votes ready for Asiwaju in 2023. The 12million votes were said by the general SWAGA but this morning in Lagos, Women for SWAGA Lagos have promised to mobilize 2million women in Lagos alone to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023. I know they can do more than that. That’s why they say in the minimum. I believe you, I know Nigerians believe you and the calibre of women we have here say much about that belief.

I know that with the state chairman, Honourable Omobolanle Obe, who is a grassroots person, who has been there and knows what politics is all about, she is going to ensure that we have 2 million votes from women minimum when it is time in 2023.

Apart from these 2 million votes, I want all of us here to see ourselves as the ambassadors of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu wherever we are. Wherever we go, we should know that we have this on; we are representing Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We should mind our language, we should mind our conduct and we should conduct ourselves in such a way that people will see Asiwaju’s qualities in us. That is very important.

Now whatever our levels before we got here today, everyone should know that we have gone up another notch. Of course now, we have to be more careful about our conduct, about our utterance and know that wherever we speak, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is speaking there.

If anybody is going to be doubtful, it shouldn’t be Lagos. We are sure that once Tinubu becomes the president, we are all going to see the difference. So as we unveil Women for SWAGA today, I want us to know work has begun. We have to extend the campaigns to the local government and wards across the state. We want you to start compiling the list of volunteers. Ensure you tell them to get their voter’s cards before they join the team. This is time to work and whoever that’s not ready to come out and vote should not join us. It will be hard for someone without a voter’s card to mobilize people to vote. We only need those who are interested in the development of Nigeria to join us. I thank everybody for your love, and support for Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu. By God’s grace, we shall all excel in the task.”
