How do you feel today sir?
Honestly, I am highly impressed. The people of Osun have clearly shown their readiness to vote for Ogunbiyi. The crowd is marvellous. It is fantastic. Everything here is encouraging.
How strong is Accord Party, nationally?
Nationally Accord Party is one of the strongest parties. You know after the so-called ruling APC and the PDP, the next party which is equally strong is the Accord Party. APGA has governorship but they only operate within a zone. But Accord is national. You know we have representation all over the country. And Accord has won so many electoral posts in the past across the nation. So we can conveniently say Accord is the next big party after APC and PDP
How has it been coordinating Accord Party across the county?
You know once you maintain internal democracy, you don’t have any problems. That is what we are doing. That is why we have peace in the Accord Party. You will hardly hear of any crisis at the party. It is because we make sure we do the right thing for anybody that is entitled to anything, we make sure that it goes to him, and that is why when we heard about Ogunbiyi, we approached him and we gave him our manifesto. And he felt comfortable with it. Now he is our candidate. There is fair play in our party and we don’t have any problem at all
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I am Honorable Mohammed Nalado. I was one time a member of the House of Representatives, and I have been the chairman of the party for a very long time. And I started not as the chairman. I started as the zonal vice chairman when the party was created in 2006. And that’s how I continually climbed the ladder to where I am today.
What is the position of the Accord Party on the cost of the nomination form to contest?
Well, we made our own so moderate. From what APC has done, it is clear that they are not ready to fight corruption. If you don’t want corruption how can you put a nomination form for president for 100 million naira and governors form to be 50 million naira. These are some of the things that are encouraging corruption. So I don’t believe in the fight against corruption by the ruling party. I don’t believe in what they are doing. So Accord Party has been able to peg a reasonable amount of money on its form that an ordinary Nigerian can afford.
