One of the hottest names in the business of spiritual products is Feranmi. She is the beautiful and enterprising woman behind Feranmi Spiritual Empire. She is simply known as Feranmi, the CEO of Feranmi Spiritual Empire, who deals in products that solve spiritual problems.
Her full name is Mrs. Daniju Mopelola Feranmi. She is a household name among celebrities, most especially the Yoruba movie stars. Many of them don’t joke with her and always attest that her products perform magic.
She is equally very successful, running a very flourishing brand. But beyond running a very popilar brand, what also helps Feranmi is her lovable character. Many people find her personality so adorable. Feranmi acquired two mansions within two years, and is not slowing down yet from attaining greater heights in life. Indeed, the last two years have been amazing for Feranmi and her very unique brand whose popularity continues to grow.
She just celebrated her birthday, which gave her an opportunity to give back to the society. She reached out to many less priviledged in the society, giving them food and cash. She also bought a mansion in Lekki to celebrate her special day.
In an exclusive interview to mark her birthday, she talked about why many celebrity marriages crash so easily. And why it is important for every lady to respect and be submissive to her husband irrespective of his financial status and why it is important for women to use spiritual products. Below are excerpts.
What has life taught you in the last one year. Last year was also a grand celebration for you, because it came with house warming and baby dedication?
I thank God, we have been moving forward, we thank God for the growth. Though life has taught me a great lesson, facing disappointment from people here and there, but I give God all the glory. I have learnt different lessons from people.
How old is Feranmi Spiritual Empire, considering its popularity and growth?
Well, this year, we should be three years old. Though, I inherited this brand from my mother. I was born into this business. We deal in spiritual materials. And being an educated person. I just tried to modernise the spiritual part of my mother’s business.
How have you been able to change people’s perception that spiritual products are actually not fetish?
Actually, a lot of people have spiritual problems, but they don’t know who to talk to, so when Feranmi came to limelight everybody was like, her products are actually working. A young lady dealing in spiritual products, how does she do it? There are challenges here and there, but we give God all the glory.
People say using spiritual products is fetish, how do you deal with that?
Well, I would say using spiritual products is not fetish, because 90% of our products is made by me, and they are not fetish. They are rather prayer products. We only fortified them with prayers nothing more. Using spiritual products is good, after praying to God, you need to use some spiritual products to enhance your prayers, nothing fetish.
People attest to the fact that you are spiritually inclined and fast a lot, even on your birthday you are fasting?
Yes, I would say, God answers prayers and fasting. And being the face of my brand, I help people to pray, fast on their problem, and God has been faithful.
Talking about your brand, and remembering your humble beginning, how many staff members did you start with?
I started with just two staffers and currently. I have 4.
Why, many would have been expecting more?
Not really, my business doesn’t need a crowd. A lot of people will say FSE see your big house and small store. The truth of the matter is that a lot of people want to use spiritual products and pretend they are not using it, so we don’t need a very large space, it is better, for the store if it is hidden.
Would you say spiritual products are now accepted by all, considering the old belief that they are fetish?
Yes, I have been able to change that orientation among people. A lot of people want to get my products and pretend they are not using them. But mostly, when they get positive results and they want to show to the world, they use them.
Would you advise people to use spiritual products after prayers?
Yes, I would advise people to use spiritual products after prayers, to enhance your prayer life. I fast, pray and use spiritual products, and God answers my prayers drastically, more than what I expect.
Did you ever envisage this great growth within 3 years and how does your mum feel about this?
Yes, my mum is super proud of what I have been able to do especially modernising many of her products. Within the space of three years, I have been able to attain a lot.
When you remember the journey, how do you really feel?
I worked with my mum for like 30 years, and I was not able to achieve anything. Though my mum tried. When I started my own brand, with 3 years, FSE came to limelight. My mum has been there, she gave me all the support and steps to take. God has been there for me. She gave me everything and here I am today. I fellowed her steps.
Any special message to her on your birthday?
My mum is awesome, she is great, she is outstanding and the best. She is still into the business and still there. She has her shop and I have mine.
Do you still run to her for advice on things?
Being educated, I have been able to apply my education to the business and that has realy helped me go far.
You are known globally, how do you feel about that, and where do you see the brand in the next few years?
The brand is going places, and in the next 10 to 20 years I know God is with us.
How long have you been married?
I have been married for over 8 years.
How have you been able to juggle the role of a mother, wife and enterpreneur?
The brand is a very big one, I have domestic staff who help out and my husband is an understanding one and a good man to the core.
When the fame came, he said Feranmi Spiritual Empire, we never dreamt of this fame, but thank God, He is taking you to places. Thanks darling, you are my life support.
Just recently one of your brand ambassadors had marriage issue what is your take on that?
There is difference between being spiritual and marital issue. My ambassador had issue in her marriage and it had nothing to do with the brand. Marriage is a decision, a choice, you can decide, not to go further. I don’t really want to go into it?
Being a spiritual person, did you play any role in it
Yes, I tried my best, but my best was not good enough. I am still hoping God will do a miracle as regards to that.
Give us 5 tips on how successful women should run their homes?
First, being a married woman, you need to be prayerful.
Second, you need to be humble. Humility will make your marriage work. A lot of women are making money on Instagram, so be humble, no matter your financial status.
Humility is a key factor, women should not allow fame and money to get into their heads. Being a successful woman and being married, you need to carry the family along, I mean your husband’s people, be nice to your in-laws.
Many would have concluded you are not a family-oriented person but you are different?
Nooo, far from that Feranmi Empire is grounded in old beliefs. To many ladies lately, it is things that they should not consider a priority, they give priority to, and that explains why we have many marriage breakups here and there.
Coupled with the experience I have in marriage, and experience I have with people, I have come to understand that interaction is very important, and my upbringing has also helped me that you have to be good to everybody, in-laws or no in-laws.
How early do you sleep and how early do you wake up?
Haaa, God is my strength. That question, it is only God that is helping the brand. Honestly, we do consultation, work online especially for people in diaspora. That is why lots of people complain. It is not easy even with my staffers, it has not been easy.
What is your advise to other entrepreneurs?
Please always put God first with God, all things are possible. Be prayerful, once you put God first, it will turn out well.
Then humility, be humble, be good to everyone around you.
You share a strong bond with all your ambassadors?
Yes, I understand the kind of business I do, it is not all about the business. We need to have relationship and this will keep the business going. I love them and they love me right back.
