Lagos socialite and businessman, Alhaji Yekeen Kayode Tunde Giwa celebrated his 70th birthday on Sunday, 27 March, 2022.
On that day, this gentleman was celebrated by family, friends, colleagues and schoolmates of over 40 years at the prestigious Island Club, Onikan, Lagos
The birthday celebration was classy, as the celebrant was treated to a memorable event by his loved ones. The guests were all dressed glamorously in honour of this great man whose story inspired many as a humble, kind and loving father, boss, and friend. Alhaji Yekeen Kayode Tunde Giwa, popular referred to as YKT is an exceptional gentleman, husband, father,and grandfather. His interesting growing up story was narrated by some of his very close friends who name themselves “The Onieni Ijoko Agba”.
Alhaji Giwa’s 70th birthday party was classy, well-arranged and star-studded. The prestigious Island Club was exclusively decorated in Blue and Diamond colours, which of course was in tune with the dangling silver- plated chandeliers.
The seats were arranged in a way that allowed hitch-free movement of guests from both wings. The Ushers were also glamorous in their wine gowns, as they politely welcomed guests and ushered them to their reserved seats.
When one considers the calibre of guests that graced YKT’s 70th birthday, one cannot but agree that the planning was detailed. The food vendors were on point with their hospitality and delivery. Each food vendor positioned a Waiter across every table to attend to the needs of guests.
MC Moreway is a classy Compere for a classy event. A-list compere, MC Moreway was no doubt a classy anchor. He was vocal and articulate and maturely guided the program to the end without distraction.
The Akinsiku of Lagos, Adebola Dosumu, who also graced the event looked so glamorous in his white attire. He secured a seat on the high table along with YKT and his amiable wife, Tejumola.
One of Nigeria’s popular bands, the Grace Persussio Band was on band stand all through the event and was never caught off-guard. The band was able to flow with the anchor and knew the right number for every guest as they walked in. The Grace Percussion Band recognized every important personality at the event with panegyrics that dates back to the guests’ ancestral heritage and pastime.
As a symbol of class, the 3-step birthday cake was decorated in Gold and White. It was so beautiful and definitely added colour to the whole event.
Mrs Giwa, the children and grandchildren joined the celebrant in cutting the birthday cake.
YKT’s children include Hakeem Giwa, Ganiyat Shomode, Omolade Ogunyombo, and Ibrahim Giwa
Alhaja Tejumola stood solidly by her husband all through the event. She first rocked a luxury chocolate lace with 18-carat jewel to compliment, before she appeared later in the evening in a classy blue attire. She coordinated the flow of the event and ensure that all went well.
To say that YKT’s birthday was start-studded will be an understatement. The event was clustered by the big wigs in the political, business and entertainment sphere. and many guests.
It was a fun-filled event.
