The much anticipated Lagos State Community Day has come and gone but the memory of the event will remain in the hearts and minds of the attendee. This year’s edition came with a lot of glitz and glamour as all the 377 local councils were represented and followed the COVID-19 protocol.
Lagos State Community Day is an annual event that features projects, programs, and rallies for thematic awareness across the state. It is usually a 3-week long event, which is usually hosted by the Lagos state ministry of local government and community affairs.
The winners of this year competitions include:
Gemade Estate Mosan Okunola – 13th
Sokediel CDA Ifako Ijaye – 12th
Eguru CDA- Popo Aguda – 11th
Idegun Ogidi CDA Lekki – 10th
Progressive New Layout Olorunda -9th
Fidelity Ohehi- Amuwo – 8th
New Era Igando-Ikotun -7th
Omotoye Estate Orile-Agege – 6th
Anuoluwapo Eredo – 5th
Harmony CDA Ifako Ijaye – 4th
These CDAs will receive 500 thousand naira each, courtesy of the governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu
The 3 CDAs that won brand new buses include;
Third Position – Ikorudu-North- Itesiwaju Odo Kekere (for the construction of community secondary school and employment of teachers) the bus was presented by Oba Onigando of Igando.
Second Position – Ayobo-Ipaja, Peace Estate CDA (Construction of drainages, grading 21 roads, 500kva transformer, the concrete poll, 26 security men). The bus was presented by the representative of the first lady, Mrs. Comfort Adeleke.
Ikosi-Isheri- Oshorun Heritage CDA which bagged the First Position executed 8 major projects – water plant, 2 boreholes, 10 interlock roads, drainage, lightening up of the entire estate, security gatehouse. The Bus was presented by the representative of the governor, Mrs. Folasade Jaji.
