In the past 24 months of Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration, local government election has not been held, rather the 18 local government areas have been govern by caretaker chairmen, who served for 5-8 months before the governor reshuffled them. Though, the local government election was slated to hold last year, Dec 1st, 2018, but it didn’t hold owing to legal tussle. HON OTITO ATIKASE
This former House of Assembly member and a former Special Adviser Hon. Otito Atikase, is the Caretaker Chairman Ilaje local government area. This grassroots politician had his degree at Achievers University, Owo. He studied Computer and Information Science and he also attended Unity Secondary School, Ode- Aye. He had been in politics for a decade now.

Omooba Gbadebo hails from the Odimayo royal dynasty in Ode-Irele is the MD Resume concept international. During the last general elections, he was a House of Assembly aspirants on the platform of APC. Until his recent appointment as Irele Local Government Area Caretaker Chairman. He has display exemplary leadership quality and he is a grassroots politician, who is well connected with his people.
HON MRS MORENIKE ONUNKUN- ALAKA
She is, indeed, a woman of history as she is the first female to be appointed an executive chairman of Okitipupa local government area. Hon Mrs. Morenike Onunkun Alaka’s father was the Senator who represented the south senatorial district. She attended University of Ibadan and until her appointment, she was the Executive Director at Gender Equity and Development Initiative (GEDI) and she is also a member of Women for Equity & Fairness Orangisation of Nigeria (WEFON). She is passionate about human and Women rights.

He is a journalist-cum-politician who had his education at Nigeria Institute of Journalism and he had his secondary education at Community Grammar School at AramomiObu in Ondo state. He is the Caretaker Chairman Odigbo local government area.

Hon Temidayo Akinsuroju is the Caretaker Chairman Ileoluji /Okeigbo local government area. He is a party person, who works for the progress of his party All Progressive Congress (APC).

His appointment as the Ondo West local government caretaker chairman was said to be a well deserved appointment. He was a grassroots politician and a strong supporter of AKETI during the last governorship election.

The Akinkuolie family is one of the prominent families in Ondo city. Hon Rafiu Akinkuote is the current Caretaker Chairman of Ondo East local government area.
