It was a glamorous setting when Skincare Specialist, Olori Sandra Thomas celebrated her 50th birthday, and *10th anniversary of establishing and sustaining MAKARI Stores in Nigeria*. She also launched her beauty product and book on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at the prestigious KFA event centre in Lagos.
This beautiful woman who is the CEO of Makari brand had a swell time, as friends and business associates gathered to celebrate with her.
The birthday celebration was classy,as the celebrant was treated to a memorable event by all her loved ones. The guests who were no more than 150 at the event were all dressed glamorously in honour of this great woman whose tribute inspired many as a humble, kind and loving wife, mother and friend.
The event, which observed all the COVID-19 protocol, had top society men and women in corporate and political space presence.
Her story and journey are an inspiration to many. At a time when the scourge of COVID-19 was taking lives in thousands across the world, she contacted the virus but fought hard to survive and she survived the deadly virus within a month.
And so it was, therefore, worthwhile on this remarkable occasion of her birthday, as guests from all walks of life, show gratitude for her noble contribution to wellness and fashion, turned out to celebrate the astute beauty expert. Olori who donned 3 different classy attires with Gold embroidery, was visibly elated all through the evening.
Glamorous in their resplendent outfits, guests were quite appreciative and cautious of the Gold and white-themed setting.Guests came in at the scheduled time to honour this trailblazer of a woman. The dignitaries were successful men and women from various sectors from banking to judiciary; politics, culture, arts, etc.
The COVID-19 survivor who thanked God for a life well-spent also disclosed that there is more to come from her product line (Liam’s Secret), and her book (Beautiful You) which is 112 pages glossy publication that covers her life learned lessons.
“I feel so great because it’s my birth anniversary and I’m indeed grateful to God for how far he has kept me and the woman that I am today,” she said.
“So far in life, I have learnt to remain focus and keep bringing up great ideas to make my business better because the world as we know is moved by ideas.
“As a fashion and beauty entrepreneur, I have learnt to be persistent and outstanding in my business. It’s not easy to be an entrepreneur being persistent and the desire to stand out in my business keeps me going.”
Overwhelmed with joy, Olori, as most people called her, was pretty much at hand to receive the personalities from far and wide, as they glided through the Green carpet onto her warm embrace. She was showered with praises, prayers and testimonies.
The host was described in glowing words, as iconic, kind, loving, caring, unassuming, disciplinarian, trailblazer, courageous, visionary, achiever, role model, hardworking, dogged, titan, and mentor.
The congratulatory message to the celebrant aptly captures the sentiments that flowed from the testimonies given by family members, friends and colleagues in acknowledgement of her impact on their lives.
The classy event had a top all-genre live performer, Laolu Gbenjo on bandstand.And veteran media personality and former SA to OGD,Yemi Sodimu anchored the event with MC Fresh.
The merry would then trip over as classics of the past wafted through the speakers, momentarily reminiscing the host’s and her friend’s youthful days. Finger foods and exotic drinks complemented with local and intercontinental dishes were on offer.
Her product, Liam’s Secret launch was anchored by beautiful Oluranti Ajayi, the wife of Popular Fertility Doctor, Dr Abayomi Ajayi, while her book, A Beautiful You’, was launched by Mr Ademola Adebise,the Managing Director, of Wema Bank.
Olori’s good looking husband, *Omoba (Engr) Adeseye Alaba Thomas* was there for her on every front and he ensured that all the guests were well entertained. Her three kids were also there to show their support and love for their mother who had just hit the Golden Jubilee. Wale Akala, Kofoworola Thomas Ajibola Thomas and Tunde Akala (Son Inlaw) were there to support the celebrant.
His Royal Highness, Oba Dr Michael Odunayo Ajayi Arowotawaya II was also there as the father of the day.
And then a toast to the celebrant followed by picture sessions. Thrilled and overwhelmed, Olori Sandra Thomas was left speechless when asked to say a few words to the gathering.
