Revealed! How K1 Now Performs Everyday Of The Week

by City People
K1, Maiyegun of Yorubaland,

•At All The Major Parties In LAGOS, IBADAN, IJEBU

In the last 3 months or so, the king of fuji music K1 has not been sleeping well. This is because he now plays every blessed day with the exception of only a few days.

If he is not playing in Ijebu today, he will be in Ibadan, or Lagos or Otta.

Truth be told, the King of Fuji music, K1 has become the most sought after musician in Nigeria today. He is now the only musician who performs every day of the week, including weekdays. It is as if no party is complete without King Wasiu Ayinde being part of it, as many celebrities no longer fix a date for their parties without first consulting the Oluaye of Fuji.

And wait for this! Do you know he doesn’t come cheap? For you to get K1 to consider your request for him to perform at your party you will be talking of N4 million, reveals a source. But he can come down slightly if you are his friend or you come through someone he respects, after so much pleading. That shows you how most sought-after he is.

What happens now is that many celebrities often let K1 give them a date. They will simply give him an idea of their desired month, and he will check is a diary and give them a date that he is free to accommodate their event.

He has also become the artiste that commands high patronage in terms of the huge sums they spray him at parties. On a good day, K1 attracts close to N3 million or more on stage. Once the Big Boys and Babes know that it is K1 on the bandstand they usually storm the party prepared with bulk sums. No Big Boy or Babe steps on stage to spray K1 without having at least 1.5m in his pocket or handbag. That assures you at least 45 minutes of non-stop praise-singing. He is soon to embark on his world tour. All his fans in the US are waiting for him to come over and thrill them this Summer. The tour will start in September.

Whilst other musicians are struggling to cope with the bad economic climate, K1 is smiling to the bank.

Lets also add that there have been times he even plays 2-shows a day. There was a day he played in Ota and left for Lagos immediately to play at Radisson Blu at Ikeja GRA, that evening.

His last major work E Ma Yoonu Si Mi has become a national anthem and it has been the dominant song for the past 2 years. All the DJs are hooked on it. So, it is on their play list at clubs and parties. The track is danceable and it is an Alujo.

Why is everyone crazy about K1’s music? K1 says it is the Grace of God. “Aanu ni mo rigba”, he once told City People. City People also gathered that it is because of the unique nature of his music. He has over the years transformed his genre of music. Like he himself once sang, he has added a lot of sweetness to the way he sings. His composition also is unique. He takes his time to compose.

He has also become at peace with himself, musically.

In a recent interview with City People, he explained how he composes his lyrics.

Tell us the meaning of that your song Olofo Lo Nbinu Ologo… we asked.

(Laughs) Olofo Lo Nbinu Ologo means someone who has never achieved greatness in his or her life, will see someone who is achieving Greatness and be envious. Always rejoice with those whom God has done something good for, if not you can’t receive blessings. It’s only Olofo eeyan that will be angry with someone God has blessed. That is the message”.

What I don’t have today, I can have tomorrow. When I have it tomorrow it is exciting to me. That is when I got mine. If you see what someone else has and you want it, pray for it and work for it.”

Let’s talk about one of your lyrics, Ade Ori Okin. Whats the message? What does Ade Ori Okin signify?

“Ade Ori Okin is the crown on the Peacock. For you to understand it you have to go and buy the Peacock and study it and see it yourself. To every Peacock that comes to this world, it comes to this world with a crown (Ade) Okin ti gbe Ade re wa from heaven. My song is Ade Ori Okin, ki se fun eye keye meaning a Peacocks crown is not for every bird. Any time I am on stage saying that I always put my hand in the middle of my head to show my fans that the crown is always on the head of a Peacock.”

“Each person comes to this world with his own unique crown. Religion tells us that everything you will become on earth you will begin to like it once you are born. You come with it. You are born with it Iseda, Akole.”

“Yes. Some people specialise in changing other peoples destinies (Kadara). That is why we pray against such devilish people. Awon a ba te ni je. Once they see that you are an Omo Ologo they can change it spiritually to harm you. That is why we need to keep praying”.

He is blessed with a good and unique voice and he recently came up with this new hit song, Olofo lo Binu Ologo. How did he get that inspiration to put together the song? What does he have in his stomach? Ki Le Gbe Si Ikun?

(Laughs) What I have in my stomach is the truth (Otito Inu) I am the same action man, very serious in all I do. I criticise myself. All I want to do, I subject them to criticism. I criticise them like somebody is criticising me. Whatever you are doing that you don’t do checks and balances, then you have lost it. I am not that perfect, but I have the Grace of God, and at the same time, I have good people around me, that we deliberate together. I have no secret to hide, so I talk a lot in the presence of a lot of people. I don’t have a hidden secret. Nothing is hidden. God sees all of us. I have Oto Inu. I am a frank person. I will tell you as it is. The inspiration definitely must come because I make use of my brain at all times. I don’t like dull moments. I can’t be caged. I want to be in the midst of people at all times. I want to be free. I want to be in a place where I can move freely. All that happens around me keeps me going.

K1 didn’t just start dominating the scene now. As year 2020 rounded off King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal has remained the No 1 musician for the rich and high and mighty.

And he retained his position as the most sought after artist in the year 2020, just as he has done in 2021. He is one of the musicians who raked in millions in the year 2020, despite the recession.

This living legend who has not just been able to break the barrier between Fuji music and the rich elites who rarely listened to Fuji music years back also made another huge blockbuster in 2020. His popular lyrics “Ade Ori Okin”, the track was released during the first quarter of 2020 and it enjoyed massive acceptance even during Covid-19 in April. Many who had their birthdays use it as a track to praise God for its fairness to them.

Even more of elites embraced the lyrics more and this opened many doors of achievement for the Fuji King. This music “Ade-Ori okin” also made K1 the number one choice of the rich elites. Believe it or not, the rich elites rarely listen to Fuji music except it is K1. “Bobo” as he is fondly called was the choice of rich Nigerians in the year 2020 who didn’t only pay handsomely to have him and his band at their events, they have also made him their official musician year in year out.

Permit us to tell you that K1 is not just the choice of South-West rich; do you know he also performs nationwide? To say that K1 is rich is an understatement. He is rich in everything. He is rich in music, rich in exposure, rich in fortunes, rich in wealth, and rich in family values.

What does it take to have K1 at one‘s event? City People investigation reveals that a K1 charge varies from 4 million and above. Do you also know that he sometimes turns down some shows?  He is a massive brand. Some rich elites even have to shift their events to accommodate his tight schedule. Though he calls it grace “Anu Morigba” but there is no doubt that his Talent mixed with Humility has paid off. There is no rivalry whatsoever as he is clearly the godfather of Fuji music. His patronage is huge as he works year-round.

K1 performances for 2020 was over 500 shows. And this is authoritative. Let’s fill you in on some of the A-list shows that top Nigerian elites made K1 their choice. It is no longer news that he was the first Fuji musician to perform for Aishat Buhari, wife of the President of Nigeria, Mohammed Buhari. He also performed at private shows which are always done by super-rich Nigeria big boys. He was the one at Alhaja Taofeekat Babayemi, the rich Ibadan millionaires chieftaincy title. He has performed for Ooni of Ife 2 times this year. He was in Ibadan for Onimalus daughter’s wedding. Oba Osolo turned 60 and had him on the bandstand. He was at King Saheed Elegushi elder brother, Asiwa Anofi Elegushi 50th birthday. He was at Oba Oloja of Epe, Oba Kamoru Animashun wife, Olori Adunni 70th. He was at Ijebu millionaire, Apawpaw wedding. That wedding made Lagos standstill. We can go on and on

In an interview which was granted by this living legend to Sahara Tv, he reveals that he performs a minimum of 15 shows per month and sometimes it is more than 15 shows. His words were “ I do a minimum of 15 shows a month. Sometimes we perform nonstop. People do all sorts of things, sometimes people call us and say we are doing a private in–house party and we want you to come and perform abroad. Can you give me the time and charges? “I have over 82 albums in the over 40 years of my music career”, he revealed.
