When people talk about Davido Music Worldwide, popularly known as DMW, the names that often come to mind are Mayorkun, Peruzzi, Dremo and a few other artistes who helped establish the label as a major force in Nigerian music. But the music business keeps moving, and Davido appears ready to introduce a new generation of talents to the same platform that helped put some of those earlier names in the spotlight.
Today, the official DMW website lists five other artistes alongside Davido: Morravey, Logos Olori, Boi Chase, Mightyyout and Toyé. They are at different stages of their careers, with different sounds, backgrounds and stories. Some have already had the opportunity to work with Davido, while others are still building their identities and looking for the records that will bring them wider recognition.
For Davido, whose career has grown from that of a young singer with hit records to an international Afrobeats star, signing new artistes is another side of the business. The challenge is not just discovering talent. It is helping that talent find an audience in an industry where new songs arrive every day and public attention can be difficult to sustain.
So, who are these new faces under the DMW umbrella? What do we know about them, and what makes their stories worth watching?
MORRAVEY: THE GIRL DAVIDO DISCOVERED ONLINE
One of the most interesting stories in the new DMW generation is that of Morravey, the Nigerian singer and songwriter whose journey took a major turn after Davido discovered her online.
Before her big break, Morravey was posting song covers on social media. Like many young musicians hoping to be noticed, she was using the internet to showcase her voice and get her music in front of more people. One of her videos eventually caught Davido’s attention, opening a door that would change the direction of her career.
Her breakthrough came in 2023 when she featured on In the Garden, a song on Davido’s Timeless album. The appearance introduced her to a much larger audience and announced her arrival as one of the new female voices associated with the label.
Morravey did not have to wait long before beginning to establish herself beyond that first major appearance. She released her debut EP, RAVI, in 2023, with songs including Magician. The project gave listeners a better opportunity to understand her musical personality and the kind of artiste she hoped to become.
LOGOS OLORI: BRINGING HIS ROOTS INTO AFROBEATS
Another name on the current DMW roster is Logos Olori, who was unveiled alongside Morravey in 2023 as part of the label’s renewed direction.
His introduction came around the release of Davido’s Timeless album, on which he appeared on Picasso. The announcement placed him among the new talents Davido wanted listeners to pay attention to as DMW entered another phase of its development.
Logos Olori’s musical identity draws from Afrobeats and Yoruba cultural influences. This gives him an opportunity to build a sound that connects contemporary Nigerian pop music with familiar cultural expressions.
For an industry that continues to expand across international markets, this kind of identity can be valuable. Nigerian music has travelled far beyond its home market, but many of its most memorable records still carry something recognisably Nigerian in their language, rhythms, expressions or storytelling.
His release Jaye Lo is among the songs associated with his growing catalogue. It gave listeners another opportunity to hear him outside the initial excitement surrounding his introduction to DMW.
BOI CHASE: FROM INDEPENDENT ARTISTE TO THE DMW FAMILY
When Davido signed Boi Chase in March 2025, the announcement generated interest among music followers who wanted to know more about the young artiste joining the label.
Born Precious Chasenoa Igoni, Boi Chase had already been making music before the deal. His earlier releases included Money, featuring Berri-Tiga, and All for You. He was not starting from zero, having already taken steps towards building a name for himself as an independent musician.
His signing was announced through a welcome dinner shared by DMW, with Davido also publicly welcoming him to the label.
For an upcoming artiste, moving from independent releases to a label associated with an established star can change the scale of the opportunities available. There is the possibility of stronger promotion, access to a wider professional network and opportunities to work with other musicians.
But there is also the question of identity. Boi Chase must show listeners what separates him from the many young singers competing for attention in Nigerian music.
His release Do You is among the records featured on DMW’s official music page. The song gives fans something to follow as his association with the label develops.
MIGHTYYOUT: THE PORT HARCOURT BOY WITH BIG DREAMS
Mightyyout is another new name under Davido’s record label, and his story has a different starting point from that of some of his colleagues.
Born Neele Lete Victor and raised in Port Harcourt, the singer had begun finding his way in the music industry before his DMW signing. He appeared on the Fuel & Flames compilation associated with the Music Business Academy for Africa in 2022. His music journey also included a contribution to the Pepple Street album in 2024.
His association with DMW came after Davido heard his music during a visit to Jamaica for Chioma Adeleke’s birthday celebrations. In an interview with The Guardian Nigeria in June 2025, Mightyyout explained that he and his manager had sent his songs to a friend who was around Davido. The singer’s sound caught Davido’s attention, and the interest eventually led to conversations about signing him.
It was an unusual route into the DMW family, but it illustrates how music can travel through personal connections and digital platforms before reaching the people who can open new doors.
Mightyyout’s music draws on Afropop and other sounds, with an emphasis on smooth vocals, lively rhythms and feel-good records. His song Paradise offers an introduction to this side of his artistry.
TOYÉ: ANOTHER TALENT JOINING THE MOVEMENT
Toyé is among the newer names on the DMW roster. Davido announced his signing in April 2025, making him another addition to the label’s developing group of artistes.
Compared with Morravey and Mightyyout, less detailed biographical information about Toyé’s journey has been widely documented. Nevertheless, his inclusion on the official DMW website confirms that he is part of the label’s current public roster.
His music is beginning to appear on the DMW catalogue, including T Fare (seXyy!!), which is listed among releases associated with the label.
For Toyé, the opportunity comes with both possibilities and expectations. DMW has a recognisable name in Nigerian music, and the association can help introduce his work to listeners who already follow Davido and the artistes around him.
DAVIDO’S BIGGER PLAN FOR DMW
What connects these five artistes is not that they all sound alike or have reached the same level of success. It is that they are part of a new phase in the development of a label built around Davido’s influence and his ability to attract attention.
DMW was established in 2016 and became associated with a number of artistes who went on to develop their own profiles. Mayorkun, Peruzzi and Dremo are among the names most closely connected with its earlier era. Their careers helped give the label an identity beyond Davido’s own music.
