During the last birthday of Alayeluwa Oba Adeyemi Adekeye, the Abepa of Jogaland, a few eminent Nigerians were honoured with chieftaincy titles. One of them was Rosemary Nwabuoku Meneye, a pretty New York based Nurse. Popularly called Yeye Rose, she is a Nursing Practitioner (NP) She has her Masters in Nursing, and she is getting to start her Phd in Family Nursing practice.
She stormed Joga Orile with a lot of her friends, many of whom flew in from the US with her. Many of those who heard the news that she was made the new Yeye Oge were not surprised. Many people quite agreed that she deserves it because of her fashionable lifestyle. She told City People last week that Fashion and Style has always been an inherent treasure put in her by God since she was a little girl “I have always stood out at social functions and I’ve always been called Yeye Oge, even before the status was conferred on me, she explained. “I feel honoured that Kabiyeesi Adekeye chose and bestowed on me the Yeye Oge of Jogaland title.” A lot of dignitaries and friends graced the conferment occassion.
They include Ministers, honourables, friends and family members from the USA, UK and all over Nigeria. The roll call include the following celebrities. Princess Ajike Sule, (daughter of late Oba Epe) Alhaja Risi Odumosu (Risi Kolex) and her friend Rose (Of First Royal Oil) Woman leader of APC, Alhaja Ojugbele, Ariyike Fadahunsi, Mrs. Funmi Lawal, Omoba & Mrs. Adisa Awopeju, Mrs. Jumoke Olukosi, Derby Adetula, Jumoke Ayeni (Yeye Mayegun), Erelu Aree Ekiti, Hon. Abiodun Dada, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, Aare Rotimi Ishola, Barrister Funmi Lamuyi, Hon. Sanya Omirin, Dr. Fola Rogers, Sola Okpaise, Nike Coker and Lanre Kuponiyi. Though she lives abroad, Yeye Rose was born and raised in Lagos.
The Abepa liked her dress sense before he made her Yeye Oge. City People can authoritatively reveal that she didn’t lobby to be Yeye Oge. It was the Abepa that liked her dress sense and style and decided to make her his Yeye Oge. Truly so.
She dazzled everyone at the event with her style. She changed twice. She wore a lovely outfit in the morning and changed into another dress for the evening party in Abeokuta. As for her Jewellery, she likes Gold, Sapphire and Diamond pieces and attends a lot of fashion shows. She has a rich collection of Gold and Diamond pieces. Her jewellery are unique. She is a lover of designer shoes and bags also.
Though she is sociable, she is shy by nature. She shies away from public glare all the time. She is a believer in Christ. She loves God. One of her best friends is Olori Ayomide Adekeye, the 1st wife of Kabiyeesi. She lives in the US.
