This is a season of multiple celebrations for the musical couple, Tunde and Wunmi Obe, popularly known as T.W.O. A few days back, Tunde attained the golden age of 50. Also, his band T.W.O that has become a point of positive reference and a source of inspiration to many people also clocked 30.
What makes it a triple joy is that Tunde and Wunmi’s marriage is 20 years old. This explains why the duo, Tunde and Wunmi, are in high spirits and decided to mark their life landmarks in a beautiful way, pooling family members, friends, and well-wishers to rejoice with them.
According to Tunde, turning 50 was a remarkable achievement to him as he surges through life’s hurdles.
“At a time when people are not really living long in Nigeria, turning 50 is a big deal to me. My father died when he was 46, while Wunmi’s father died at 49. So, I have outlived both our parents and, for me, that is a major thing”.
Speaking also on how they have managed their family and music career for 30 years, he said, “family comes first and I will gladly drop music if I had to choose. However, I have been able to combine everything and its working well. I am glad, I am still here and T.W.O. is 30 years amid ups and downs.
The grand finale of the event, which is Tunde Obe @ 50 Dinner
was held on Saturday, 1st September 2018, at Ijakadi Hall, Radisson Blu Hotel situated at 38/40, Isaac John Street, Ikeja, G.R.A. Lagos.
The reception was resplendent, and it witnessed the presence of the high and mighty in the music industry, celebrities, top editors from different media houses etc.
It was a colourful event as the hall was beautifully decorated and classically added a glamorous touch to compliment the aura of the event.

Among dignitaries who came to celebrate with the duo, Wunmi and Tunde Obe was the Editor-in-Chief of Global Excellence Magazine, Mayor Akinpelu, and of course, veteran broadcaster, MC and the CEO of Biscon Group of Company, Chief Bisi Olatilo.

This was manifested as the hall was filled to the brim with musical artistes, both veterans and new artistes. Among those musicians who made it to the event and thrilled the audience with their powerful renditions when invited by the MC are Ruggedman, Yinka Davies, Essence, Kenny Saint-Brown, 9ice, and many others.
