On Saturday, November 20, 2021, the entire city of Lagos deferred the stress of moving around the City to attend a very classy burial party of the late Alhaja Fatima Ebunoluwa Opeifa. The event held at the spacious police college in Lagos and many celebrity men and women from all over the world turned up.
Alhaja Opeifa in her lifetime was a very devout Muslim, a reliable mother and teacher. She raised all her children so well that they are all successful in their chosen paths in life. These and many more reasons made the party so classy.
Many who were at the event thought that there were about three events at the venue because there were three different bandstands, several serving spots, more than enough to eat and drink and three different red carpet spots for the same event.
Exclusive information which reached City People revealed that Mama Opeifa had touched many lives during her lifetime and it was an avenue for her to be celebrated greatly even in death. This woman of honour had produced astute politicians, businesswomen of high reputation both in Nigeria and overseas and also a godmother to many successful individuals across different walks of life.
She hailed from the Ojerinde family in Owu, Abeokuta, Ogun State and lived a fulfilled life as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother before transiting to the great beyond.

MUSLIM CLERICS STARTED WITH PRAYERS
Alhaja Fatima Ebunoluwa Opeifa as earlier said was a very religious Muslim woman. Until her death, she was the Mogaji Adinni, Surulere Central Mosque in Lagos. This was why many Muslim Clerics came in their numbers to open her burial party with prayers. All her children in Nigeria and those overseas came home and were present at the prayer. It also held at the Police College playground in Ikeja, the venue of the party. Some notable Lagosians were spotted at the prayer session before everyone made their way into the different tents where the party held simultaneously.
MADAM KOFO ANCHORS EVENT
Abiola Atanda popularly known as ‘Madam Kofo’ is known for her gigantic and unique gele styles in movies. She is a veteran Nollywood actress who started acting during the time of Late Yoruba actor, Hubert Ogunde. Madam Kofo hails from Osogbo, Osun State. She is a master of ceremony and a classy one at that. She anchored the burial party and trust me, it was fun. Her eulogy skills are unbeatable. She added a lot of glamour to the event and all the guests testified to that fact.
THE ANKARA ASO-EBI
One of the talking points at the event was the colourful Ankara Aso-Ebi that virtually all the celeb men and women wore to the party. Trust Nigerians and Aso-Ebi, they are like 5&6. At this event, there were just a handful of people that didn’t wear the Ankara. This made the venue look very unique and colourful. His staff of office followed one of the deceased’s children, Mama Oni Mama everywhere she went. Also spotted was the Olori Bunmi, the wife of Onijora of Ijora.
FORMER LAGOS COMMISSIONER, MR KAYODE OPEIFA AND HIS WIFE WERE EVERYWHERE
Honourable Isiaka Kayode Opeifa was a former commissioner of transportation in Lagos State. He is a technocrat as well as a politician. He is one of Mama’s children and he was very visible at the burial party. He ensured that all the guests were well catered to. He did this in the company of his beautiful wife.
Hon Opeifa’s fashion statement was also very loud at the event. He wore a beautiful agbada with a matching shoe. City People gathered that the honourable commissioner attracted a lot of big wigs to the party which gave more glamour to the event.

Madam Adejoke Riskat Opeifa is a UK based celebrity woman and daughter of the deceased. She is popular in Lagos and London. She is known as Mama Oni Mama, a mother of many children. Everyone who had met her always had something good to say about Mama Oni Mama. She is a giver to the core. According to a finding made by City People, she had helped so many young ladies, women and even girls and she is still helping them over there in the UK. But this is not the trending gist, the gist is that she stunned at the party in three different hot and classy attires. At every point when she stepped-in in new attire, all her fans, friends and followers would hail her. She was undoubtedly one of the lives of the party. She played a major role in pulling the crowd from across many places to the venue.
JEMILA FROM LONDON TOO…
Another daughter of the deceased that made the spotlight at the event was Jemila. She proved herself to be a great dancer. Jemila is a London based society woman, a source revealed to City People that she is a nurse and a businesswoman. What was most pronounced about her at the party was the fact that she was such a great dancer. She made use of every opportunity she had to enjoy the music. It all started with the band boys who came around with their trumpets and drums to serenade the deceased children. Jemila instantly hit the spotlight from that moment and then she upped her game when the musician of the day mounted the podium.
SULE ALAO MALAIKA PULLED THE CROWD
The much anticipated live band of the day came through after the guests were almost fully seated and he indeed did wonders. Madam Kofo just announced the arrival of Sulaimon Alao Malaika and the venue changed colour immediately. The atmosphere suddenly became livelier; it was as if the guests were highly expectant.
Sulaimon Alao Adekunle popularly known by his stage name Ks1 Malaika is a Nigerian Fuji musician who started playing and performing music from an early age in a quranic school in the suburb of Lagos. His street sense coupled with exposure on the job made him a perfect match for the day. Of course, the crowd was a combination of the oldies and the generation X, Y and Z.
Let’s be the first to tell you that so many celebrity men and women from both Nigeria and the UK stormed the stage and KS1 made all of them dance beyond their imaginations. They also went on a spraying spree for several hours.

Popular Lagos beautician, Funmi Beauty World was also present at the event. She came well dressed in the party’s Aso-Ebi. She runs her beauty and spa in Lagos and has been very successful at it.
H/E MUSILIU OBANIKORO’S WIFE SPOTTED
The wife of the former ambassador of Nigeria to Ghana and former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro’s wife was also present. She was with Mama Oni Mama, showing her love and support. She also had a photo session with some of her friends and equally marked her presence on the stage with Ks1.
