Oba Sola Adeniyi Olaniyan,The Onipokia of Ipokia Kingdom is in a happy mood right now.He is celebrating his 1st Coronation anniversary. He has every reason to be happy. He has done a lot to restore Peace and stability to his neighbourhood.
There are those who didn’t give him a chance of success. There are those who also felt since he had lived abroad for several years,he would not be able to stand the heat.Of course they tried to frustrate him at every point but he manoeuvred his way round all the stumbling blocks. All these have since become irrelevant as a result of the matured way he has been running his office as the 46th Onipokia of Ipokia in Ogun state. He is a first class king and he conducts himself in a very respectable manner that makes every body to respect him and his office.
How has the last 12 months been,Citypeople magazine asked him recently?
What is on his mind as he celebrates his 1st year coronation?
” My heart is full of gratitude to God and the people of Ipokia Kingdom for their support and enormous peace that has reigned in the last one year,”he explains.”
“What I have in mind for Ipokia and it’s environs is peace, progress and unity which will lead to development. Without those 3, it will be hard to see any development in our communities.”
How has he seen the tremendous support he has received from his people so far?
“Principally, we have enjoyed the cooperation of the people towards building peaceful coexistence and facilitating interests and interventions towards the growth and development of the Kingdom,”he further explains.
“With the support of my people, we have been able to lay the foundation for those three things I stated earlier. Peace, Progress and Unity which of course is work in progress.”
” Also, we have been able to lay a solid foundation for achievable and progressive development by coming up with a blueprint for Ipokia development, something that we didn’t have before.
In addition, when I traveled to the US where I have lived for 23 years in March this year, I was able to meet with some corporate and individual investors which I believe will come into fruition soon.
How does kabiyeesi see all the challenges he has encountered in the last 12 months ? “We don’t see them as challenges, rather, we will take them as issues and they are not really peculiar to us but Nigeria and other developing nations. These are issues bothering on out of school children at different levels, low/poor standard of living especially among the vulnerables and people living with disabilities, electricity and unemployment.”
“We shall overcome all these issues in a matter of time,” says the handsome king of Ipokia.
