Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Bassey, who is popularly known as Hilda Baci, recently revealed in an interview with Taymesan on the ‘Tea with Tay’ podcast that her biological father, Effiong Bassey Edem, disowned her.
Hilda, who is a Guinness World Record holder, explained that her father had been present in their lives since they were kids, but things changed when a huge argument between him and her mother had an impact on the children.
According to Hilda, the biggest issue she had with her father was when he abandoned her.
He was present for them to some extent, but when she was in 300 level second semester in University and her dad and mom had issues, she called him to ask why he didn’t bring food for her on her matriculation day.
His response was shocking, “Who’s your dad?” Hilda later realized that he was not actually joking.
