Last weekend, on the 20th and 21st of July the whole of Oyo stood still as the  Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi gave out his daughter, Princess Rukayat Adeteju’s hand in marriage to her sweetheart  Hakeem Folarin. The event which was planned by Tammy’s event was held inside the palace of the Alaafin with Adewale Ayuba on the bandstand while it was chaired by The Osolo of Isolo, Oba Kabiru Kolawole Kabiru Agbabiaka. HOW PRINCESS ADEPEJU GOT HER DREAM WEDDING

The talk of the town two days wedding was palnmed by popular Ogun Renewed Event Planner Abidemi Adeyemi of Tammy’s Event. Not only that Adepeju got her dream wedding but she was excited all through as she was also seen hugging the planner at every opportunity she gets.

Another reason why the planner Abidemi Adeyemi went extra miles to see that the vision and dreams of Princess Adepeju was actualized was because of the relationship she share with the couple way back

Five years Princess  Adeteju  was Abidemi’s nine year old daughter’s teacher as Corp member and they were not aware  she was a princess

She dotted on her daughter so automatically she  dotted on her for the whole year thinking she was a corper in a strange land. She must have smiled secretly at my weekend stipends and N100 afternoon kids pick up yogurts the planner explained.

“Years later Princess  sees me on IG and said no matter how short the notice I will be her planner when she weds and kept in touch consistently for 3 years till date. A year ago she says she’s getting married and I need to meet her parents , low and behold it was The Alaafin of Oyo .Teju, a natural born princess is one of the most humble ladies in this generation that I know of. With her two knees she greets me each time.

Then the plot thickened and I found out she was engaged to my childhood friend so it was double interest in ensuring this wedding rocked. Not everything is about connections and long legs, God’s grace is sufficient . He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek and serve Him

ABOUT THE TRADITIONAL ENGAGEMENT

The marquee was set and, one can not ignore the beautiful decor of purple and white wit flawless table settings on each table. The event kicked off with an opening prayer by Alhaji Dauda Igiogun, who invoked the blessings of the most high on the occasion and on the about to wed couple. The engagement will not be forgotten quickly by guests in attendance from every part of the country. Even Alafin of Oyo spent quality time before heading back inside.

Popular wedding engagement anchor, Strictly Weddings was the Alaga Ijoko for the bride’s family while veteran engagement anchor Mrs Onitire was the Alaga Iduro for the Groom’s family. The combination of these two crews add glamour to the royal wedding.

ALAFIN OF OYO’S GRAND ENTRY

The father of the Bride , Alafin of Oyo is one king that his style is very traditional. At each entry during the engagement and reception, there is a young girl who does his panegerics for more than ten minutes, while she also mention all his names and at a point sings for him before everyone finally takes their seats.

THE ENGAGEMENT GIFT AREA WAS A SIGHT TO BEHOLD

One thing that was very visible and got everyone’s attention was the massive engagement stand area. All gifts were beautifully rapped in a purple damasak rapper. The boxes of chocolate and other engagement gift were all in a beautiful cupid boxes. It will be hard to tell whats in each boxes because of the way they were packaged.

OSOLO OF ISOLO WAS THE CHAIRMAN OF OCCASION

The Osolo of Isolo, Oba Kabiru Kolawole Kabiru Agbabiaka was the Chairman of the wedding reception. The king enlightened the couple and also advised the couple to be patient in other to enjoy their marriage , while he officiates the cutting of the cake.

NOW LETS TALK ABOUT THE 22 TIER MASSIVE CAKE

Just when we tot we have seen it all about thr engagement cake which was a three tier puple and gold pillow cakes with royal beads , drums , sekere and Quran to support tge main cake , Ronniex Cake blew everyone’s mind with the 22 tier all white and gold cake which was very tall and huge. Guest were leaving their seats to catch a close glimpse of the cake and also take pictures. According to the brain behind the cake outfit Ronniex Cakes from Ibadan, it took the crew more than three hours to place the cakes on the stand at the venue.

SWEET BELLYS TOOK CHARGE OF GUESTS DELICACIES

Another thing that complemented the decor of both the engagement and tge wedding reception was the table settings. On the engagement, Sweet Bellys who was fully in charge of the menu went all out with the table settings , the charger plates was mats and local weave basket charger which came out unique , each guest had each three crystal cups for watet , wine and champagne with purple napkins and gold spoons to complement the color of the day. It was all glass affair during the reception as Sweet Bellys used all glass charger plates with dazzling silver cutleries. Their food was extraordinary as guest were calling for more as it was finger licking.

THE OLOORI ALAFIN STEPS OUT IN STYLE

The ten Oloori of Alafin of Oyo are known to be stylish and fashionable, they didnt do less during te two days wedding. For the engagement they all came out in white lace and black aso oke beautifully stoned , their skin looking flawless. On the second day which was the reception they all came out in the same outfit.

BEAUTIFUL DECOR BY TAMMY’S EVENTS

The decoration of both the engagement and the reception was done by Tammy’s Event, with rental support by Blue Ribbions. The reception decor was beautiful and eye catching, the stage was in ark form with flowers all over it , while the roof where the dance floor was placed was filled with flowers and crystal drops. When it was time for the couple to do their first dance, Box 18 media was on standby for mind blowing effects. The two spiral fire works and smoke came out lighting the venue which made the bride shed tears of joy while the bubble effect  fell on them as they held on tight to each other.

WITH LOVE FROM OWODE EGBA

The Olu Owode Egba , Ogun State , Oba Showemimo came all the way from Ogun to honour Alaafin as he gives her daughter’s hand in marriage. He came for the reception and was seated with Oba Agbabiaka as they engaged in a chit chat.

FRUITIE WORLD’S UNIQUE AND DAZZLING FRUIT STAND

When you hear fruit is been served at parties , be rest assured you might not be getting only fruits, especially when its a big event and its been handled by professionals. Fruit was served in a unique way by Fruitie World went all the way out at the reception,  their stand was something to write home about while friuts were served in ice cream cones , with ice cream in a jar , some were served like pizza based with watermelon, the brain behind the outfit Funke Adedokun was on ground to see to a successful events.

ADEWALE AYUBA ON BAND STAND

On the band stand was Adewale Ayuba , his melodious tunes took Alaafin from his seat more than two times and he kept on going to dance. He also delivered  father and daughter songs as Alaafin and the bride took their dance. The couple also ejoyed every bits of the moments spent in front of Ayuba.

ABOUT THE COUPLE AND THEIR LOVE STORY

Princess Teju Adeyemi is one of the pretty daughters of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi. Her husband is  Hakeem Adesina Folarin a big boy who us a businessman based in  Abuja , he is the son of Alhaji & Alhaja Julili Ademola Folarin (MON). Princess Teju  is the younger sister of Princess Sade Adeyemi. She attended   Federal Government Girls College, Oyo. Then later proceed  to Bowen University where she studied Mass Communications ,  she her  Masters at the University of Ibadan in Industrial & Personnel Relations. She worked with Federal College of Education for five years as an Admin Officer.

Princess met her husband Hakeem  through her  cousin. They  dated for about two years before they finally tied the knot. She went to drop something for her cousin when they met. Since then he has been telling all her friends that he was  going to marry her. Even when they  met. Barely a month after they  met he kept on telling her  he would marry her. He kept on saying this is my wife.  I am going to marry this girl and she  used to laugh at him. Each time he says it, she is  always like look at this guy. Do I know you. What she  likes about him is that he is a good person. He is understanding. He is nice.

PRINCESS ADEPEJU THE BEAUTIFUL AND STYLISH BRIDE

Those who are close to Princess Adepeju can tell she is not someone who wears the Princess  character, she is very humble and easy going , but one thing you cant take away from her is her fashionable style. She is not loud, but her choice of clothes and accessories speaks undiluted style. On her wedding engagement she was in an all white stoned aso oke which was made by Bimms 24, her make up was done by Oteniara Makeover. For the reception and nikkah , her white wedding dress was made by Fashion Mind Bridals. For the after party she wore a simple black dress with a soft fringe materialise, the fabric was from Bunniness Fabric and tailored by Bandora Online, her beautiful hair was by Hair by Dayjee.

DRINKS DELIGHT SERVED COCKTAIL AND MUGTAIL

Guests also enjoyed mugtails and cocktails from the attractive bar of Drinks Delight, rhe brain behind the outfit , Lanre Sonola put up a nice mixing show and he light up tequila shots in a unique way.
