A private jet belonging to Skybird Aviation last night overshot the runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) Abuja.

The aircraft, a Gulfstream, overshot the runway landing through runway 22 and is stuck on the RESA about 30 meters from runway 22 end at about 10.20pm last night.

Our Correspondent gathered that the runway surface was wet at the time of the incident.

Following the incidence, the runway was shut to traffic last night but a notice to airmen this morning has partially opened the runway to traffic.

Our correspondent also gathered that the runway has been reduced from 4km to 3km thus, the only aircraft who can land within the 3km runway will be cleared for landing until the aircraft is evacuated.
