Says: Many of Those Who Talk About Me Don’t know Me
The Oluwo of lwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi has replied his critics, most especially those on social media,saying all the things they talk about concerning him are not true .
He spoke when he appeared on Citypeople TV Instagram Live chat with the Oluwo of Iwoland
“The reason I don’t bother myself about what many people say about me Online is because many of those who say these things don’t know me and they have never met me before. So they talk ignorantly.
“You have visited me in Iwo before and you know me well.l am not the kind of person they say l am .So I don’t bother myself. The people of lwo know me well.l go to meet them in their houses every day. I sit down with them we talk.All the kids see me.They touch me.They take photos with me.l have brought royalty closer to them.l am a different kind of king.
I have spent the last 2 months going round to educate them about COVID 19.l even produced branded facemasks for them. I had to put my name so they will know its from me. If not they won’t wear it.”
“Many people misunderstand me. You see I am something new.l represent something new.When you see some thing new you have to be patient with it.Where I am coming from is far,so for people to understand me they have to connect with me. We are poles apart. I am coming from far away. So you don’t expect them to understand me just like that.l represent Change. “
“But I am trying to carry my people along, for them to know that it is a new dawn.lts a new breathe of fresh air. Its a new way and approach to our Culture. What we met on the ground is not working. “
“So we have to change it .That is why there is so much opposition to my Style. I was sent on a message by God to come here to lwo to come and liberate my people from hunger,poverty and illiteracy. So I have to fulfill his message. It is not me doing all what I am doing in lwo I am only doing what God has sent me to do.”
